LIED!

Saturday was the worst I've ever ridden it. Not only that, but it was worse than PKDs.

ON a good note, Thunder Road (backwards) was running the Best I've ridden it in years, and Top Gun was great. BORG, well, it sucked Assimilation.

RollerNut goes  . Opening Day, all wooden coasters were running fast, Hurler was slightly rougher than normal and Thunder Road's turnaround was too. If rougher means no airtime like it did on Opening Day. I said bring it on.

When did you ride it????

I rode it Saturday and Sunday afternoons and it was running great!

There was a lot of air, it was smooth, etc.

If you rode it in the morning that would explain it. It takes a while for woodys to warm up and smooth out.

Opps, I ment "If rougher means airtime like it did on Opening Day. I say bring it on.". I need to learn to type, and we need to be able to edit after 30 minutes. I rode at about 7:00PM Opening Night and Hurler was running fast but wiggling around in the first banked turn and fan turn. We have little 8 or 7 year old girls that ride in the back car and say it isn't rough everyday. Hurler was running unbelievably great the day before Dry Run Day.

I rode Hurler around 11ish on Sunday, and it was fine. A bit slower than last weekend and with more screeching due to lack of lubricant, but still much better than it's been in years as far as being smooth and fast around the *entire* layout. I'll take going fast with a hint of roughness over that slow, boring coaster that barely made it back to the station that we had in 2003.

Thunder Road, on the other hand, must've been having sympathy pains for Hurricane and the announcement that the Pavilion was closing. I rode in the back seat of the forward side, and my back said "NO MORE!" before I reached the turnaround. It was fast, and was delivering some air, but was way rougher than usual. Didn't ride backwards, which was running pretty well last weekend. I usually like backwards better, but the back row of forwards tends to have the best airtime on the coaster if it's going to have any so I ride back there every once in awhile. I guess I'll move to the front of forwards T-Road, or at least stay off the wheel seats - or just stay on backwards.

hurler is running good...of course the turn arounds are areas where you have to brace yourself but other than that its no jack hammering or anything like that.

Jesus christ its a wooden coaster not smooth as glass B&M!

Yea, what do you expect? Hey Ken, did you sit in front seat and were you wearing an ACE button?

I rode Saturday near sunset, with at least 8-10 other enthusiasts. And yes, there was major airtime (which has never been a problem on Hurler), but it was absolutely the roughest I've ever ridden it. EVAR.

Which is a shame, cause last time I was there it was wonderfu. And I wasn't the only person who thought so, everyone else in the group thought it was too rough as well.

Where did you sit? The back is awful still.

The front however has been great every time I rode it this year and last.

Oh and yes, Hurler has run slow before.

About 4 or 5 years ago it would barely crawl over the hills. No air time, and jack hammer to death in the turns.

HUH? I don't remember that.

It was amazing in 2002. The rides during Scarowinds that year were the best it has ever delivered. They did something to if in the offseason that year, I have no idea what, but I can still remember walking up to it on opening day 2003 and seeing it nearly valley coming onto the brake run. On opening day this year I would say it was back to the ride from 2002.

Yea, I remember watching that, but wasn't it cold that morning. I remember it still had airtime, but was slow over the hill. As long as Hurler is running between 55 seconds and 58 seconds, it is fast.

I was close to the front (I never go to the back), but even the ones in the front were talking about how bad it was. It was even shuffling in the turnaround on the lift. Which is a shame, because I know how good Hurler can be.
