Sorry For My Rant,
JFB
Your rant is well taken my many people on this board (including myself) and then you'll see there are others on this board that do not particularly have an appreciation of the parks lost historical past and just like to rant about the people that DO. Ignore them!
I for one have never been anti-Paramount. In fact, I love a lot of what they have done with the park since 1993. Their only 2 mistakes in my opinion were the removal of the monorail & the Carolina (especially for a pos Vekoma). Two relaxing family attractions that were somewhat unique in this area.
I am optimistic about the future of Carowinds under Cedar Fair. They definately view Carowinds with a certain potential that doesn't exist in the other Paramount parks.
1) It will be the CF park with the longest operating schedule west of Knott's Berry Farm.
2) They like the uniqueness of having a "state-line" park and will hype this in their marketing strategy.
3) The park is located in one of the fastest growing areas in the US.
4) The park has plenty of expansion room, unlike PGA & PCW.
5) And best of all, they do like hyper-coasters unlike Paramount.
Side note: CF has only added one Vekoma coaster (adult) to one park since their acquisition. This was a Boomerang at WoF. This shows that they do not casually buy bargain basement Vekoma crappers like Paramount did. Unfortunately, CF will be acquiring the 7 Vekoma nightmares that Paramount Parks has.....
And yes I hate VEKOMA coasters as if you can't tell. They have a bad history of reliability among other things. People I knew in the industry always considered them the "poor man's coaster". Or, if you need something at the last minute, coaster. LOL!
