Ok so yesterday I decided to make a visit to the park after my dentist appt. I was not too sure about going since it was pouring where I was. I later decided to chance it anyways. My main reason for going is to visit the water park. I arrived there around 4ish. I figured me and my GF would hang out in the Waterpark till 7 then catch a couple rides. My Gf was wanting to get a locker to lock up the Valuables (Keys Wallet phone etc) The girl @ the register told us that the water park closed @ 5. At this point I was shocked because I remember when the water park closed @ 7. To top everything off we decided to hit the last river for a some laps and relax. Apparently they were only allowing people to go around once. Much to my dismay I was not very happy about the visit. I think it would have been better to stay @ home. The only good part was our bag was searched and I was trying to conceal my Late lunch since I was having to wait to eat. The Bag searcher was really cool about it saying “Nahhhh I don’t want that…. You can keep it” He let me place it back in my back and go on into the park………..My how things have changed.

what used to be a food nazi search has turned to better things, they look for things that actually might harm another person, and not their profits.

Im not too surprised about the waterpark, because its before school gets out. It's highly possible that the irregular hours included the waterpark as well.

The waterpark has always closed an hour before the park right or so i thought.

The waterpark closes an hour before the park or at 7 which ever comes first.

I cant believe the change in hours. 8pm on weekdays? COME ON! It cant hurt to stay open till 10 WHAT park dosent now? Cant wait for CF to make all the lovely changes to PC.

As a tack on to this thread, just an FYI the park posts the hours of Boomerang Bay at the park entrance.

So all you have to do is look at the board before entering the park to find out when they are going to close BB.

A lot of parks have cut hours over the last several years...even Cedar Point. I'm sure that if Carowinds felt there was any money to be made by staying open until 10 on weeknights the park would be doing it.

Just be happy that Carowinds hasn't started closing at 8pm EVERY day in the summer, like another particular park.
