A new article appeared today in the Toledo Blade concerning the Cedar Fair acquisition. The very last paragraph sounds, ummm, interesting.

In the article, Cedar Fair mentions ways to boost profits:
"It also plans to cut costs by large-scale purchasing, by reducing the number of concerts held at Paramount parks, getting better rates on insurance, eliminating duplicate business practices, and reducing staffing and changing wage levels in some cases."

Large-scale purchasing? I like the sound of that.

BTW, Kings Island had more attendance than Cedar Point last year, although CP gained more revenue (bascially due to the water park and hotels on the property). It will be interesting to see how KI turns out over the years with CF.

Bring in the trash cans and the cement trucks. I guess thats what they ment by that.

I don't like the idea of reducing concerts. I think they should have more. Like popular bands.

If they are going to reduce concerts, might as well rip out the paladium and put in a new section of the park. It would be fine by me.

The thing is wasted and hardly ever used. I don't call 5 concerts a year in the thing a good use of land.

^^^ Agreed 100%. Get rid o that thing and put in a new area with a HUSS Giant Frissbee a S&S Screaming Swing a B&M hyper a HUSS Giant Floorless Top Spin etc.

I wouldn't mind if they tore it down either. That would make for a very nice new themed area.

Agreed with the above, it's used so rarely now, and would open up TONS of land for further development

I doubt it. I don't think CF knows one was ever there or will ever know.

I think the whole ride needs to be re-done. Technology for these rides has changed alot since rapids was built so the ride could be alot better.

I doubt it will happen but just something i would love to see. Bigger boats too.

I dont think the smaller Intamin Accelerators brake down as much(except Stealth). But yea I havent heard much about Rita, Xcelerator, or Storm Runner braking down. Maybe they should do the Intamin Accelerator in a few years when they have the technology right. Next year Id like to see a HUSS Jump 2 im not saying im going to Carowinds next year since im 3 hours away but yea a HUSS Jump 2 would be nice.
