For maximum insanity go to the Phantom Flyers first thing, because every enthusiast at the event will undoubtably go there as well and take over the ride.

Only ride hurler in the front car....it is the smoothest there and has some great ejector airtime. There was only one time that the back didn't beat me to death. the last time I rode in the back it was extremely rough, but really fast, and in the first turnaround my body twisted around.

Ride ricochet in the front right hand seat.

Everything else is taken care of.

I will second this comment.

Ride the Cyclone in the very last car. It's worth the air time you get when you get jerked down the hill.

We went to the park yestereday and tested out a couple of different seats on the rides.

Definitely avoid the middle of Top Gun... unless you get an outside seat.

The third car on forwards is our new favorite car on Thunder Road.

The fantom fliers I have to agree are awesome... though a bit scary... i thought I was going to loose it on them yesterday.

Thats about it... we rode couple other things but did them routinely.

Yesterday (Thursday) was so much fun! I agree, the middle of Top Gun was not as good as the front or back.

The flyers were insane yesterday! Me a my girlfriend rode by ourselves the first round, and I got some insane amounts of snapping yesterday! Someone came up and asked me if I "bounced." I was like yes/no, and told them that I snapped. Then we rode it again together, not much snapping together, it was to hard with the extra weight to get it to go as high as usual.

Thunderroad forwards third car was so much fun!

Borgs line was only down to the steps.

Tip: Go on weekday afternoons (not friday) becuase there are no lines.

Thank y'all so much! I am really excited to go, and now I am bringing a friend!
maybe this is a stupid question, but how are the food prices? I know that a lot of people say that SFOG has really high prices compared to other parks, so I just wanna compare and figure out how much cash to bring.
Thanks again!
btw, coasterdude, I am going to C3, which is on a saterday...but thanks for the tip!

I'd say SFOG has the highest food prices I've seen.

Carowinds is not a whole lot cheaper though.

$13 for a drink, cheapo burger and fries is a bit of a ripoff.

That's why I usually hit Wendy's before hitting the park if I'm going to be there all day.

I normaly just eat a big breakfast, then go to Wild Wings for lunch after I leave the park.

Does Borg only have one train?
And also, what color do workers at Carowinds wear?
What is the weather usually like for C3?

Borg has 2 trains, but is very slow with loading and unloading still (4 minutes per train usually or so)

Carowinds workers where blue shirts i believe (that's right isn't it, i never payed particular attention to that)

I know the first too (didn't go last year) turned out to be some of the hottest days of the year, no rain, sunny all day, did i mention HOT. But this year it's like 3 weeks later, so who knows what it will be like this year.

Most of your normal associates are in blue-- a darker blue polo shirt with the stars and film on the collar is what most employees wear. Admissions people wear light blue button downs. The people who clean wear the button downs with the two bold white stripes on their fronts. Life gaurds have red tunks and hats with a Boomerang Bay T-shirt. Entertainment usually wears some kind of black, people in the parades wear orange and green shirts. Emergency response people wear red shirts and black pants and have a backpack filled with their emergency things. Security at the gates wear yellow polos. Guest services wears something specific, too, however I can't remember.

Any other color means that that person has some sort of authority or handles money beyond a register, they are usually a manager of some kind. Associates wearing white shirts from home were just hired in the past week or two, or they're violating their dress code.

And quite a few posts up, someone mentioned that Wings has refills. Technically, it's not free, but we don't watch :P

thanks, um...if you had to put together a list of rides in order, what would it look like? You know, best to worst?

BTW, I requested some info from Carowind and got a nice e mail and my info arrived very quickley! That would never happpen at SFOG! lol

Rip Roaring Rapids lines were over an hour yesterday. Staying to the left and not going over the bridge seemed like the right thing to do yesterday. I am not sure that it was worth that much wait time.

I have a 42 inch tall 4 year old, so I can not comment on the "big" rides, but Carolina Goldrusher was pleasant. We are looking forward to him being 44 inches tall which opens up a whole bunch more rides.

Boots Baloon Race intensity locator is low at 2 -- s/b 3 or even 4 for how motion sick I was afterwards -- and I rode the Phantom Flyers (snapping all the way) without any problems!

BTW -- don't go when it is some kind of "Youth Day" -- in my opinion, worse than Platinum bring a friend free day for how busy the park was.

Y'all have all been so much help!
I was wondering if y'all could tell me any fun things to do near Carowinds that might be of intrest...
My mom is probebly coming, but not to the park, and we are trying to make sure that she has fun too!
I know there is the mall, and a new Cracker B.

Wings, across from the water park, is where we usually feed. Mainly because I have five children running with me, plus me and mama ~ I can buy a whole pizza and refill a couple of our souvenir cups and have an acceptable deal. Additionally, there are free refills on your drinks inside the restaurant itself.

I must say that SFOG was quite high on its refreshments, as you said in an earlier post. I only carried my 54" kids with for that outing last month and split my tail wide open at $13 a pop for a hot dog/fries/drink combo. Our lunch was over $50 and it made me feel awful... will plan ahead next trip over... still had a great time... wish we had a Goliath, too!
