So we planned out our trip from the snack and found a little walk around path on the outside perimeter of the park. This took us to the Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion. This is much much better here as the building was built just for this ride. It was quite fun though it broke down on our friends on the car behind us. But they were released very shortly afterwards.
We then headed over to this water thing that was Nickelodeon based in that area of the park and cooled off majorly by walking through it a couple times.
After this we crossed over to Old Virginia and rode the Grizzly. This ride... although the view when starting was beautiful of all the trees in the distance... we could see why we were able to just walk right onto the ride. It hurts... bad. But it was fun none the less.
After that I paused and smoked a cig while my crew went on the Flying Eagles... Our Phantom Fliers... This ride is kool but it scares the crap out of me. So I stay away from it. I have a fear of un controlled height so I stay away from this. The guys liked it a lot though... though you can't get the snap very well like you can here.
Then it was off to the Drop Zone. I still don't ride this either... Free falling falls into that uncontrolled heights thing for me. But the guys did. Their Drop Zone puts ours to shame... with at least double the capacity and much taller than ours... it seemed to be quite a blast.
While they rode this I hung out in the grove. This part of the park is sooo beautiful. Its like this long hallway of a outdoor courtyard with attractions, games, food, and beautiful landscaping. I rode the Triple uhm.. something... it lifts you up and spins you around a lot... very Old Carnival.
After this we went to the Anaconda. The line for this was short and we were on and off quite quickly. I liked this ride for the initial drop and loops but the corkscrews sucked as we were going very slow through these.
After this it was off to Water Works... Bigger than ours... but I hated it. It seemed quite dated to me but this may just be because a. ours has been revamped, b.I wouldnt think of pairing a water park with a virginia theme park, c. I just am not a big fan of water parks in general... give me coasters... but the crew insisted on hanging there so i chilled and held onto our bags while they played.
After the water park, we went to Tomb Raider and road that for time number 2. We then hit the Anaconda up again since the wait was short.
A time or two we went to the Treasure Cave. We really enjoyed walking through this.
We then took a walk around the Eiffel Tower and took photos with all the different statues and posters and stuff. I may have these up soon as they were taken with our friends camera.
We then took a break and went to go watch the School of Rock. Being in the performance industry a little, it was more comedy picking it apart. That and it was just a little eh... I'll hold my remarks.. some people may actually enjoy it.
We then went back over to the other side of the park and hit up some Nickelodeon type flier things. Around this time it started getting dark and we went back to Tomb Raider AGAIN. This time at night. Its even cooler at night with the fire and water and everything.
After this we made another walk through the Treasure Cave and then high tailed it over to the Eiffel Tower to get a last view of the park. It was amazing... though the story that the employee had about the kid falling off was a bad fabrication.
After this we left the park and headed home.
We had a blast at the park. Loved the theming of everything and how everything tied together. Not much needs to be done to this park as far as improvements... but we hope the CF take over will get us up to the level of this park as far as theming and coaster sizes go.
We look forward to going back but still have much love for our beloved Carowinds.
Thank you
Chris
