On tuesday I went to the park, and of course, I road Top Gun. But I noticed something different about the trains, there were video cameras installed on every row facing the riders. When did they do this? I was there last Thursday and did not notice them. I wonder why they did it.

Maybe you will be able to buy Souvenir On-ride Videos with generic third person views of the ride thrown in? Depending on price, that could be interesting.

So i guess i can now take my video camera on the ride and get a free video.

If they are making Videos I'd love to be the attendant working the booth. You know once people realize they are there the madness will start. Remember the Disney oops? :P

Thats what i would be worried about. I can just imagine what people would do in fron of those cameras.

From what i understand if a guest does something to obscene on the video camera they will be banned from the park, The ride will start from when the train leaves the station to the first set of brakes. Price hasnt been announced possibly $13.00 only on DVD.

^ There are sensors past the operator booth on the right that I'm assuming tell the equipment to start recording.

I couldn't find the sensors at the end of the ride where it tells it to stop.

The equipment is housed in boxes below every row of seats.

It's weird watching all those little cameras go through inversions when you're in the back of the train.

I think the front row cameras are tacky, but they couldn't have done it any other way.

I wonder what would happen if the trains ever bumped. The cameras extend past the bumper on the front. lol

I dont like the front row cameras i have hit my head twice on them so far when checking a harness. Nothing would happen to the cameras if the trains bumped there are stoppers in the front and back of each train.

Hi all. Just joined the forum and saw this thread.

I was there today. Yes, they are now selling videos of your ride on Top Gun. The price is $20. They had a special today and sold them for $10 and I bought it. If you want to see what it looks like, I've got it on my server here.

I've also uploaded it to Myspace and you can watch it here.

Couldn't help but notice the entire 2nd row of the train was empty. Must've been a slooooooow day at the park.

I'm so glad they don't have these on the rest of the rides in the park. No telling what you'd see.
