Jarvis I don't know where your sources are getting their info.

My source said quote: "Look for something very similar to this at Carowinds in 2007".

I can't reveal my source though.

That idea was canned last nov when SFoG made their announcement they didnt want to have "similar" attractions and they decided to send that to a park that doesnt even have a B&M coaster, but it does have a hyper in a sense ;) .Suprisingly no new emails today yet but that can be because the person doesnt really work on sunday but man o man wait until tomorrow!

Realistically, none of us really know what the "powers that be" are planning, if anything, for 2007. I will say this, the purchase price for the 5 parks by CF was $1.24 Billion, but the loan was for $2 Billion. The difference may account for some retheming, garbage cans and upgrades in equipment OR that rumored "ride order" that was on tap for 2007 that Paramount was already sitting on ~ they probably already committed the front-end money by the sale time to CF and there may be some contractual obligations involved, thus the overage in the loan.

The absolute SMART move on CF's part would be the addition of a Huss Giant Frisbee OR a hyper coaster(300' or more) of some type - neither of which exist in the South, but would be perfect for a CF breed of park. Exciting! I think we will be learning something within the next 60 days...

Really, I expect some great things for Carowinds within the not-too-distant future as it will be CF's southern headquarters and has all the potential to really be a destination park ~ I think that is the way it will go ~ just common sense for CF! They know what they are going to do ~ we just have to find it out, one piece at a time...

In the press releases, CFLP stated that the extra ca$h they got would be to pay off other debt, mostly. I guess they're refinancing ;-).

But I figure that they'll be using money to make some visual changes and to make the transition. I could be wrong, I'm not saying that the people that told me things are 100% correct, but they've yet to lead me astray, but it seems as though Paramount Parks made the final decisions and signed the final contracts for next year before the purchase.

IM curious what they wanted for Carowinds. They expanded Nick Central and the waterpark I wonder what they wanted to do next. But it should happen Cedar Fair has already said they are using the 2007 plans Paramount had.

They said that during the conference call the day after the sale, but don't be surprised if they changed their minds.

Actually, I would be surpised if CFLP changed plans already in place by Paramount. More than likely, if decicisions were made before the sale, then CFLP knew of those decisions and could have commented to Paramount if they weren't interested in following thru. Not only that, but Paramount Parks would have been the ones to pay for it, not CFLP. It would be stupid on their part to change plans already in place by the time the announcement took place. Paramount Parks was a successfuly run business that spent wisely. Six Flags, OTOH...

Well, I wasn't going to bite but I figured why not?

In my simple opinion I really don't see anything happening next year for the simple reason CF is just getting thier feet wet with Paramount. I expect maybe a spruce up here and there and maybe the addition of CF goods to buy but no major attractions, for us anyway.

Maybe the before mentioned "already planned" was included in the deal or maybe Paramount has already paid "X" amount on them and CF just took over the balance. If, which is a big word here, they ordered custom attractions they are probably already in production somewhere and I don't think CF would back out as that could hurt their future purchases. I mean would you accept orders from someone who already cancelled orders in the past? Just my 2 cents. I also don't think that statment was made for all Paramount parks, I mean when is the last time Carowinds made up thier minds what to do for the next season before Sept. / Oct. ?

Anywho, does anyone know if CF has been touring our parks? I'm sure they have been around before the purchase but I mean have they really been inside, looking and spending any amount of time at the parks?

I hate to throw this thought into the 2007 rumor mill, but last time I was at the park I saw alot more Italian Job movie promos on the TV's in line. I really hope they don't give us an IJST but to me it looks that way, at least from a promo perspective. Any thoughts?

I dont think Paramount would of put 4 of the same roller coaster in their parks. Carowinds dosent want to put that in anyway. Remember the paramount influence is still at Carowinds so your still gonna see advertisements in the park.

RollerNut wrote: Does anyone know if Frenzoid was skyblue before it was green? If you go to the park, ride Drop Zone section 4, and take a look at Frenzoid, something appears to be going with it. There is what looks to be blue paint on some parts, I am not sure if this is new paint or paint that is under the green paint.

I don't remember seeing any part blue, but what I did see what a very neatly organized pile...not like a scrap pile that I thought it would like. Maybe it'll be saved..or sold?

This is just pure speculation, but I imagine the Cedar Fair purchase would nix the idea of anymore Italian Jobs going in. Whether they keep the Paramount license for a time or not is yet to be seen, but I don't see anyway that they will actually install new attractions themed to Paramount.

Actually no, Carowinds Zone can confirm this.

Markers everywhere around Whitewater Falls, and Thunder Road. Carowinds Zone has NO inside information on this. The theory between me and the source of the photos thinks the lift will go OVER Thunder Road, the station will be where the Whitwater Falls station and lift are, and the brakes will be where the lift and turn on WWF are. Possibly dive under the Thunder Road lift.
