Regular Top Spins are fun too. The Suspendedness adds nothing.. its all about the program, water effects add to the awesomeness too.

Funny you mention that about Acrophobia Wes.. having ridden that one as well as Apocolypse at Drayton, I never noticed a problem.. I didn't really stand though, there was enough room for me where I could just sit down like a normal bicycle seat.

I think the Paladium's days are numbered. They did hint at not having as many concerts as part of their cost-cutting measures in integrating the Paramount Parks with the current CF parks. None of those have ampitheaters that I know of, although I've only actually been to CP. I don't remember one up there anyways.

I don't think the ampitheaters are quite as much "in the way" at PKD and PKI, although I can't recall their exact locations in those parks. The Paladium takes up quite a bit of prime real estate at Carowinds, though. If you look at this satellite view of the park you can see that the Paladium takes up about as much space as the island and moat did in the center of the park. Yeah, the Google maps shot is from back before BORG showed up.

You can also see how much space is around the park in the various parking lots that aren't used much - like beside the Paladium and T-Road. There's also a big dead area in that loop of the entrance road beside the parking tollbooths. Reclaiming some of that parking space and / or the Paladium's space could lead to quite a bit of room for new areas / rides down the road. I for one wouldn't mind losing the Paladium for some rides. I don't think the park really needs the concerts for attendance - it's not like they're not going to be packed on those Saturdays already.

The PKD ampitheater is on the far left if you're looking at the park from the front.

It's over in a corner, so I can't see them doing anything to it.

Now the Paladium is in a prime spot for a new area, and could connect Wayne's World...er...Thrill Zone or whatever it's called now to the front of the park.

I think Paladium is really a waste of space and resources, they have lost almost all of the big name artists to Verizon, which has a better setup with the lawn. Plus they don't charge ticketholders an extra $25 to get in the park (which has never made sense to me).

I say scrap the place and build a new section to the park (and install our hyper under the bridge) he he.

I fell in love with the giant huss frisbee at PKI and would love to see one of those, or the smaller more reliable version at Carowinds. I also like Top Spins, but prefer the older type to the new floorless (the program makes me dizzy on the new one too).

Actually since Cedar Fair took over, the number of concerts has went up. The Paladium is also being advertised more, it will not be removed. To connect Thrill Zone and Paramount Plaza, all they have to do is open the maintenance road between Skycoaster and Arbor Shade.

^ I'm sure those were in the works way before CF took over. You don't book artists at the drop of a hat. You have to get scheduled on their tour and so forth.

I bet the staff of Carowinds has been coming out here reading this thread and rolling on the floor with laughter.

It's getting to the rediculous stage now.

And Dave, you get my vote. lol

I never believed that a coaster is 100% sure coming to Carowinds next year <_<

I still hope next year is a thrill year since they did kiddie in 2005, family in 2006, and they supposedly do thrill after that. I dont care what it is now as long as it dosent suck.

I personally think that next year will see some kind of minor attraction while Cedar Fair assumes the reigns of the park. After all the first year of Paramounts ownership didn't bring anything big until the next year when the Hurler arrived. If you want something big at the park next year, I think you'll probably be disappointed. Just hold your horses. After all, all good things to those who wait.

^ and if you know anything about paramount, their plans change more then the "winds", get it the "winds", oh never mind. But paramount could have been thinking major one day and then minor the next. I have learned that nothing is set in stone when it comes to paramount. I mean look at italian job. That thing went thru several name changes before it even OPEN at PKD!

How do you know the plans for next year weren't "minor" after all? In the past, plans for the park could change in a heartbeat and have! Its been the case where they've have plans for something and its changed. Sometime tells me that CF has already had some influence on things already.

A) I'd say you won't see any changes to BORG regardless of whether CF keeps the Paramount Licensing or not. They have the Star Trek: Experience attraction, and will likely keep the Trek Licensing thru that. Although I wouldn't expect to see much more added to any parks with Trek, but it is a money maker much like Nick is.

B) All concerts were likely booked way before CFLP took over. Summer tours are booked up to a year in advance, so CFLP has little, if anything, to do with scheduled concerts. Honestly, I wouldn't be suprised to see the Amphitheaters at Paramount Parks done away with in time. It works at Darien Lake, but Not everywhere.

C) If what has been stated in articles is true, that CFLP is keeping with Paramount's Plans for 2007, then something will likely be added, be it large or small. I haven't known Paramount to ever skip a year or have an off year. They've always added at least something or re-themed the water park or Kids area in to something more current, and since both of those were just done, I'd figure something that was being planned when CFLP took over will likely be added. Again, they'd be stupid not to add something next year. These are profitable parks, and even CFLP usually adds something to their parks on a yearly basis.
