General Carowinds discussion

I went to get my 2007 season pass this past Sunday as a 2006 Plat Pass holder to get free parking.

Turns out that you don't get your permanent pass when you do this. We got a paper pass and were told we have to go back and get our permanent pass next year.

What was the point of this?

Also, it seems like you have to get a sticker put on your car to get the platinum pass parking benefits next year.

Uggh.

I have been less than thrilled about the pricing structure/changes since Cedar Fair. It sounds even less appealing now. Needless to say, I will not be a pass holder next year. I hope they work all this out by next year. Also, I hope this is not a sign of how everything else will be handled.

I think the Carowinds pass should include all Paramount Parks, and then have the Maxx pass option. And the Maxx Plus (or whatever it is called) at a lowered price from what they are asking... although I would never need that anyway.

This just made me realize something. They didn't give me anything for free parking. Was I supposed to get the sticker?

And while we're at it, I love how the temporary pass is too big to fit in a wallet. <_<

No. They should have punched a little hole in your 2006 pass.

That will suffice until they give us the sticker or whatever next year.

I also never heard, if someone buys a 2007 pass now and they weren't a passholder in 06 will they get free parking?

As much as it grieves me to say it, I seriously doubt we will be season pass holders next year either. I'm with WDWSpider about the ticket to include the other Paramount Parks. We enjoyed 3 days at Carowinds this season(8 last year) and 1 at KD, which was our family first. As I have 5 children, and live about 100 miles away, it is just not going to be as worth it as in the past. If I knew, beyond doubt, that we could make a trip to the great parks of Ohio next summer, the Maxx Pass would be a great deal. Too early for us to plan that far out and too expensive(for us) to gamble.

Remember, CF may very well drop the daily one day park admission for next year. We won't know that for awhile. I can spread out trips to other nearby parks with NEW equipment, i.e., BGE & Dollywood, not to mention the fact that SFOG always has some good deals.

No, it is only for people who renew.

Is Carowinds going to offer the option to purchase a parking pass like previous years?

If you pay me $50 I'll let you ride in my car into the park each time.

I'll get the free parking if I renew my pass and get it processed in time since I have a 2006 pass. I just think it would be a bad move if Cedar Fair decides not to offer a parking pass option for new 2007 passholders.

Nice try Wes, but I'm not falling for any of your money-making schemes.

There will be a 2007 parking pass for sale however it will not be sold untill November at the earliest. More than likely in 2007. The temp card that was given because there was not enough time to get the plastic cards mad. On your first visit in 2007 you will just need to go to any gate and swap out the card. You will not need to go to processing again.

The reward for 2006 season pass holders for renewing is the 2007 parking. It must be purchased and processed on or before Oct 29, 2006 to qualify for parking.
