General Carowinds discussion

I really hope CF buys land and expands the park eventually. Carowinds is so small right now especially since they added the path when they put in BORG. I hope we get a coaster next year and then maybe a LONG screaming Swing in 2008.

I only wish for 3 things in time.

1. A multi-level parking deck to free up the existing lot for expansion.

2. Tear down the Ampitheater.

3. Get back as much land as they once had.

They won't get rid of the Palladium though... Look at the success the Christ Fests have brought to the park this year.... Plus its good cos it puts them all in one place while I go throughout the park and ride rides...Also makes them an easy target

Not true. Announcements have been made in Jan before. If you don't hear anything by March 1st then i think it's safe to assume Carowinds is getting nothing.

...And if that is the case then it's not gonna be much of anything. Still might get a pass for next year because it's the only park that isn't a decent drive away and i need my amusement park fix, but i might have other things to do next summer, so we'll see.

I believe we can safely assume there will be NOTHING new for next year... but then CF may need time to really study each of their new parks and how they can best improve them... let's look for something exciting in 2008... I hope...

I hate to say this, and I probably shouldn't, but I know that at least one CF Park canceled their plans for next year for a new attraction. It wasn't really a MAJOR major attraction, and I'd figure they'll end up with said attraction, but with the purchase of the Paramount Parks, they decided to use the budget for a new attraction at that park on something more important for the park and the workers, so as much as I'd love for PCar to get something new, I'm starting to believe it is possible that they won't.

I think he's talking about that feeling you get when you think you've been to a certain place or time before.

Like that certain place where he wore his speedo last year.

Well at C3 they did speak that they wanna update the water park with another expansion and bringing in a few more rides in the next few years is hopeful. Just nothing "Under the bridge"

Yeah, but what he doesn't know is the ride I was talking about would have looked really good in this year's expansion, and it got canceled :o .

I do think Carowinds will focus on another waterpark expansion (which they desperately need, I think 2006's was mostly a joke, like PGA's) and a few thrill and family flats peppered thruout the park.

I honestly think they could take a couple years off from a new coaster (but won't mind if they do add a new one soon). Cedar Fair knows what they're doing. Carowinds is a money maker. The last few years, regardless of what the idiots would like to believe, have been good addition years for the park for the most part. They've come a long way since 1999, and I think they'll continue that trend under Cedar Fair's management.

Carowinds, IMO, is really comperable to Knott's in size and style. They just need an Afterburner and a Top Spin and things will be up to par :). But I do wish their next cosater was a good woodie.
