I think it was an overall very good year for the park.

Sure we didn't get any new thrill rides or coasters, but that doesn't make a good season alone.

I plan on being there Saturday for most of the day (or until I get too cold and head for Wild Wings).

Sunday I'll be at the Panthers game, so I can't do the final day and close out the park like I usually do.

I wish we still had that first weekend in November, like the last two years! Maybe, at the very least, the new owners will broaden the schedule next year. We took our last visit this past Saturday... I brought four of mine plus two of their friends and all had a great time! Got it all the major rides with six hops on Top Gun. Bayard, we looked all over the place for you...

For now, I've opted out of the season pass for next year ~ we still haven't visited some of the great southeastern parks like BGW, Dollywood or IOA, so I think we will put those on the agenda for next year, along with a revisit to SFOG. I told all my kids to enjoy Saturday as it might be our last visit until 2008 and wait and see what happens. But then I might change my mind and do the Ohio loop which would necessitate a Maxx Pass ~ just can't decide for sure...

We made five visits to Carowinds total this year ~ all fun plus a trip to KD on our passes. After having ridden 62 different coasters this year, Top Gun is still in my personal top three! Special thanks to all of you who work there and read the boards for making Carowinds a really special place to visit and enjoy!

^ Bayard goes and hides now and talks on his cell phone. lol  j/k

I ended up opting FOR the (Max) pass for several reasons.

1) I haven't been back to Cedar Point since 2002. I would like to ride TTD if it ever works and I love Milly and Magnum too. Plus Maverick looks like a fun little romp.

2) I have yet to go to Kennywood or Geagua Lake so those are on the agenda for next June (week before or after Coastermania).

At this point I don't know anyone that is interested in going with me, but if anyone is, send me a PM. I'll be meeting up with some friends at CP more than likely, but don't have anyone else committed for the trip from Charlotte yet.

Hi Guys... I do think this year was totally awesome for the park. This was my first year as a season pass holder since i was 6...so I really enjoyed that aspect. The park seemed to do pretty well.. I mean when I get to the park on the weekends and I can maybe ride thuderroad(I don't wait in line) then something must be going right eh?

We came well over thirty times this year and will definitely look to do the same in the future. Totally love the park... though it could definitely use some upgrading, but nonetheless... Its more than one would expect to have established in an up and coming city like Charlotte.

I have to agree with Coaster Dad... Top Gun is still awesome... even after going to Kings Dominion... I still love it... nothing really compares to it. Well except Tomb Raider... but thats a completely different kind of thrill.

We prolly won't make it out to the park for the final closeout as we are throwing a massive Halloween party this weekend. So I hope to see you all next year. Still undecided about the Maxx Pass... though we have discussed a trip to Ohio. So who knows.

Well I'll be checking in on the boards every so often... and if you guys like for those of you who didnt know... I live about five minutes away so I'll try to get in as much spy time during the closing season to see if I can get a peek of any new shenanigans that no one will disclose at this time :-) Good thing I buy my liquor at Frugals.

Well I'm off here. Best Wishes to all.

Well Scott said the Intamin track would start showing up over by Thunder Road within the next week or two.

(Sorry Eric I couldn't resist another joke about our hyper (under the bridge) before the end of the operating season).

I am kind of curious what CF will do next year. I'm not expecting a coaster, but a nice flat like MaXair would be very awesome IMO.

I am going on Sunday for Carowinds only. How should lines be? Any chane of any walkons. I will be bringing a first timer and want to get in a lot of coasters. I'll be there from 10am - 6pm.

Hi everybody, this is my first post. I have been going to Carowinds since 1980 (wow 26 years...time really does fly) and Sunday Oct. 29th was our 10th visit on Platinum Season Passes this year. The crowd was moderate to heavy on the final operating day. Long lines all day for Scooby, Carolina Cyclone, all of Nickelodon, Ricochet, Vortex, Reptar. The Fairly Odd-Coaster was down all day and Ricochet was down most of the day. Five to ten minute wait times for everything else. There was a dance & cheer competition this weekend and the Make-a-Wish Foundation had a strong presence on Sunday as well. I thought Carowinds had a great year based on what I saw over my 10 visits and I really enjoyed the park this year. As I figured, the price increase for season passes is just $10 dollars if you didn't renew by Sunday, which I didn't. Well, I'll see everyone next March 24 for another season. My hope is that Carowinds will get a few more flat rides for 2007. I miss rides like the Spider and a swinging ship. Also, it would be nice if we saw a return of more character prizes for the games. I like the Sonic, Spoongbob and Dora stuff but saw way too many generic, who cares if you win, prizes at the games. I don't expect a new coaster until 2008, but have a feeling that it will be worth the wait.

Well I missed the last operating day because I was at Kings Dominion. I assumed that Carowinds would also be open for the first weekend in November but I guess I was wrong. Oh phooey.

I went yesterday and FOCer was running the whole time. Now ricochet was down all day. It was my first nick or treat and they wouldnt give me a bag. IM like dude...what are you gonna do w/ all this candy come tomorrow <_< ! Then the lines for the candy...JESUS!! those were longer than the lines for BORG! The foam was pretty cool but was in an area tooo small. I didnt know how big the event was w/ the public and I hope the park realizes that and plan next years according to that.

We must have been in different sections at different times 'cause we briefly walked through Nick Central twice on Sunday and both times the FOC was not operating with empty trains sitting on the track. Ricochet did start running in the late afternoon and the line for it was long.

foc was only closed from about 1:30 to close on sunday.
