^ I really don't think this will both Carowinds that much.

They're 3.5 hours away. It's not like they are 30 minutes away.

Like Scott said at C3, sure they'll lose some business the first year it's open, but not that much.

Hard Rock is probably going to catre to an older crowd anyway, I don't think they'll be marketing to the same age groups IMO.

Is this the same company?? and if it is will this sale have any impact on the new park??

I was just coming here to post that. Yes... The Seminole Tribe bought the Park.

I should have been more specific. I took that as The Seminole Tribe bought the park. I don't know this for a fact, but I would assume.

Seminole Tribe will have nothing to do with Hard Rock Park.

Quick lesson in licensing: HRP is not owned, never was, nor was it an idea of the company that owns(ed) Hard Rock Cafe. A privately funded company decided to build a theme park in an area where a regional park would likely do well (myrtle beach).

They needed a brand name to put on the park, and they decided that Hard Rock Cafe would be a great fit, so they contacted the owners of Hard Rock Cafe and set up a licensing agreement to use the Hard Rock brand name on their park.

So, the company became Hard Rock Park, Inc (or something like that), which isn't any part of the Hard Rock Cafe company. The Company that owned the Hard Rock Cafes is being sold to the Seminoles. The company that owns Hard Rock Park is independant and is only paying licensing fees to use the Hard Rock Brand, so (and I doubt this would happen, I'm sure a licensing contract was likely dealt with before the purchase) the only thing that could conceivably happen is that at some point the Seminoles may decide not to renew the licensing when it comes up for renewal, and HRP would have to change it's name (like Geauga Lake did).

Yea, I know, bringing up an old post but hey. Decent news for them.

No ride descriptions but, it does sound good to me.

Have you guys been checking screamscape?

<a href='http://www.screamscape.com/html/hard_rock_park.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.screamscape.com/html/hard_rock_park.htm</a>

They are saying that HRP is behind schedule as compared to the progression of the construction of other theme parks (respectively the same size). They also mention that this may give rise to some pretty serious corner cutting. Maybe I should just be more optimistic. The glass is half full................

You can't always go by Screamscape though. They've been known to be off before, a few times...

Well, all you have to do is look at the <a href='http://www.hrpusa.com/video/cam.htm' target='_blank'>WEBCAM</a> to see they are behind schedule.

There appears to be the beginnings of a few structures, but other than that, it looks no different than it did 6 months ago.

True. But at least I have spotted a crane on site.

Yeah, I really don't see this thing opening in early 2008 like they are saying.

I would call it a Cement Pumper if you are refering to that pic you posted on TPR. I can see why you would think it was a crane though.

<a href='http://rcdb.com/id3621.htm' target='_blank'>B&M Coaster</a>

Supposedly, this coaster utilizes music in its trains according to another forum. Wonder if this might be what Hard Rock is planning?
