This sucks. I haven't riden it yet. How would you all rate the ride?

So now that they are keeping Flight of Fear poor old Hypersonic gets the boot? I like the ride, but can understand why they are selling it. The thing is a capacity nightmare, and Cedar Fair isn't a huge fan of that. If only they had such a quick trigger finger with Top Thrill Dragster...

It's too late to edit my first post, but I noticed a minor mistake.

No longer can we use the acronym PKD. I guess CFKD now?

I hate they are selling it but I also understand why.

I liked the ride myself. To me it was a bit more intense than TTD. XLC was compact, everything happened fast and going over the hill is 100% better than TTD. That stupid twist going down on TTD takes away every thrill from a hill.

Ok I checked out their website and the ride is still listed.

Also, they list the manufacturer date as 2000, but the ride opened in 2001.

It probably is the same one, but I know S&S did made a test model before this one.

If it is PKD's though, it won't be a big loss. I personally hate the ride.

I only ride it if it is a walk-on basically.

There is no doubt this is the same one. Look at the picture. You can see the Hurler building in the background behind their Ricochet.

It is the test model, as far as I know. I was of the impression that they modified it and added in the bunny hop.

Also, for now at least, it is still Paramount's Kings Dominion.

I was quite impressed with it while riding it opening year (media event). I haven't ridden it since they re-designed the train restraints or whatever it is they did.

The ride is a real rush, and yes, like Foreseer says, it all happens so fast, you hardly knew what hit ya. It's was too short, IMO. They should add an extra 1000ft of track.

I can't compare it to TTD since it has been down both times I've been but I wouldn't mind seeing H-XLC at Carowinds. I don't think thats an option since they are selling it though.

Carowinds has always been a good park for low capacity rides in the past.

Yeah, the test model was used for Hypersonic, they just added to it. I hope it is still there next year at least so I can get the credit.
