Why not Carowinds? You mind as well bring down Top Thrill Dragster while your at it, since we are becoming the USED attraction capital of the world.
To me they are eaqually fast diers. A handfull of rides on them and they go in the category of The Southern Star. Been there, done that, threw away the bumper sticker.

The rumor for Dorney is just that, trust me. Wood. Dorney is getting Wood. Yeah, they're getting a new power grid, but not for Steel Venom. ;)

As for Cyclone being the smoothest 'classic corkscrew', I actually think that Canyon Blaster is better. Cyclone is my 3rd favorite non 4D arrow. Right behind Tornado and Canyon Blaster.

Plans for the 2008 product addition are already in place. If SV is finding a home at Carowinds, it would in addition to the current major plans already in motion to start construction in mid summer.

Major plans? Construction in mid-Summer? One can only hope...

Well if they're anything like the crews that work on roads in charlotte, it could take them from mid-summer to opening just to do the groundwork for a small ride, much less a coaster :P

A rezoning request for Dorney. Wonder if this is near Lazer or in that area near Steel Force?

I think its pretty stupid if Cedar Fair relocated a coaster from a cedar fair park to another original CF park. There pulling an SF here. But then again moving it to one of the P Parks is still a SF move. Steel Venom would fit beautifully at Carowinds though.

From what I've seen on one of the boards it looks pretty much like they are sending it to Dorney.

The height request as well as a generator or something request seems to point to it going there.

Maybe we'll get a new coaster next time round, whenever they decide to put in a coaster.

Did anyone ever hear what Carowinds' attendance was for 06? Did it go up, flat, down?

This dosent exactly guarantee were not getting a coaster next year. But theyll likely expand the water park or put some new flats in maybe well get a maXair. THen thered finally be a HUSS Giant Friss outside o Ohio.

Dorney would have to apply for no noise restrictions. Steel Venom is quite louder than an un-silenced Talon or Hydra.

Let's all hope and PRAY that Steel Venom goes to Dorney or some other park! This is not to mean that we wouldn't love to have it, BUT if we were to get this coaster it would effectively slam the door on any NEW coaster until at least 2009.

CF must certainly realize that with SFOG about 3 hours away and the brand new Hard Rock Park being built about 2 1/2 hours away, they are in a command position with our park to build something new and great within the next 18 months. Certainly a Huss Giant Frisbee and a huge B & M hyper would do the job. SV would only be a "bandaid" for our park and really, I want us to have something better. I believe CF knows this and will act, in time... good things generally come to those who wait... we'll have to wait a little longer...

With the success of Carowinds, I highly doubt CF would not put in something new next year.

They certainly didn't have time to plan for 2007, so I'm expecting something in 2008. If that's a coaster or not we'll have to wait and see.

07 is the 35th season, but 08 will be the 35th anniversary, so they could play off that.

Funniest quote I've seen on http://www.absolutleyreliable.com in a long time...

You guys do realize that those height restrictions could be moved to a different place to make way for a first and 2nd drop on a GCI wooden coaster, don't you...

This addition would be great only if we got our own new custom coaster the next year. I would not care for this to be our major addition for the next three years.
