General Carowinds discussion

Let me take a shot at this.

1st: I would expand the waterpark to the other side of TR into the parking lot. Adding of course more current and popular slides that we lack. I also would move Flying Super Saturator into the water park just across the midway from where it stands now.

2nd: I would install a Huss Frisbee at the old location of the FSS.

3rd: I would remove WhiteWater Falls and replace with a water coaster simliar to the one at SeaWorld Orlando. Can't remember the name, I think it was something to do with Atlantis.

4th: Reinstall some of the old carnival style rides in the county fair such as the Wild Bull and the Swings. I also would relocate Scream Weaver back to it's original location to give the County Fair section the actual feeling of a county fair. I also would add county fair type of concessions such as corn dogs, elephant ears etc.

5th: I would demolish the paladium and expand the kids area (what is it called
now?) in that direction. I wouldn't add to many more rides, but I would relocated RRR and a few additional small rides to the newly expanded area.

6th: I would add a Giant Top Spin at the location where RRR currently stands. I also would speed the Shooting Star back up to it's original speed. This will no longer be considered a kitty ride.

7th: The Goldrusher would get some much needed theming along with a short ride show just before entering the station.

8th: I would replace Vortex with a Floorless Coaster with portions of the coaster crossing the midway near Ricochet.

9th: The Cyclone would remain, but the helics would be covered once again. I would tear down the Hurler and replace with a new woodie (Twister Style). The Sky Coaster could stay, but I would add a sling shot to the mix. This would be the big up-charge section of the park along with the go-carts.

10th: DropZone would be replaced with a more modern version such as PKD's and at least as tall as theirs. I also would squeeze in a Wicked Twister Style Launch ride into the Thrill Zone.

I feel this would improve the selection of attractions that Carowinds currently offers. Expanded Park in two areas, Two brand new flats, Some older style rides returning, Upgrades to several existing attractions, 3 new coasters replacing two "Rough Coasters".

Of course, this would all take place in a two-three year span.

^ A note about the helix on Cyclone. Apparantly they have a bat problem, so that probably wouldn't be a good idea to close it up again...unless you rethemed it (Vampire, Batman?).

But I do miss the closed tunnel.

Yeah, I heard about the bat problem. I think PC could have resolved this issue without removing the cover.

I would use an exterminator, gun, or whatever it takes :D

I also miss the cover. The helix is pretty lame without a cover or some sort of darkness.

All the changes I would make are summed up in everyone elses posts.

1. I would take it old school. I'd get the old Thunder Road trains and bring those back. I'd also turn the Cyclone to it's original color, red.
2. I'd turn the County Fair into a real County Fair. I'm talking Ferris Wheel, Wave Swinger, Wild Bull(bayern curve), and a Topspin.
3. I'd up the thrills. I'd replace Drop Zone with one like at KD. I'd also take that land next to the Hurler and expand Thrill Zone. This would mean a giant frisbee, an impulse coaster, and a Slingshot.
4. Instead of Dora sing-a-long with a Spongebob show. The story would be that Sqidward's gone missing and the whole crew(spongebob, Pat, Sandy, Krabs) has to find him. On the way to finding him they run in to Plankton and his cousins, pesky and mean jellyfish, and the Flying Dutchman. I would also put some music in Phantom Flyers so it won't be so silent.

^ The old TR trains were actually so heavy they would destroy the track. Plus the trains have been lost or destroyed.

I'd say make some new versions though and get PTCs or NAD trains with fronts to look like the old ones.

Just thought I would give a visual on the arguments on land and such.

I think their best bet to expand outside of the current walls of the park are to buy the mall (which doesn't seem likely now). It's a huge stretch of land, like half the size of the current park itself.

They could easily move the parking over there and expand the park.

More likely, I think they would expand out beside Thunder Road. Do away with the South Gath altogether and build a new section there.

That's what I meant. I didn't mean the actual trains they used I meant trains that are like those.
