General Carowinds discussion

Was looking at the calendar on the Carowinds site and Friday, April 27th is labeled "Education Days". I've got some business to do not far from the park on that day and thought I might swing by and get some use out of my season pass. My question is, is the general public allowed on "Education Days", or is it a semi-private event?

The GP is allowed in, but be warned! Elementary and middle school kids all around! It can get old... quick!

The good thing though... With CP's new height restrictions, you shouldn't have a problem with lines on the Coasters.

Actually even rides like Drop Zone will have long lines, I went with my high school last season.

Depending on which weekend you go, I usually go to Carowinds the 2nd Friday in May, which is edu-days, and I've never ran into a crowd problem. Going again this year after skipping last year (went on 4/1 last year).

The kids aren't that bad if you just go by yourself and keep to yourself. They'll just think you're creepy ;).

I have been before (way back in 8th grade) on education days...it was swamped...but I managed to ride every coaster except for TR and Hurler, and got some muliple rerides on certain ones.

Last year me and some friends went after school one day (skipped Spring Fling) and got there about 3-30. It was really crowded, but around 4 to 4:30 most of the kids leave and get on the buses...after that it was walk on walk off...granted a thuderstorm hit the park about 4 and it didn't reopen till 6, but just go late in the afternoon on a friday and you should be fine.

If the park closes at 6 PM as it usually does on Edu-Days, the park usually clears by 4, so you can usually marathon anything but Borg.
