So the HRP preview center opened its doors yesterday (April 18th) and from what I have found http://www.discovermyrtlebeach.com has about the best reviews, as well as a ton of pic’s from the exhibition. Here is the site and whatnought, and so forth, and such and such, and etc.: (Be sure to notice the sweet Zeppelin Hermit)

B) <a href='http://www.discovermyrtlebeach.com/attractions/hardrockthemepark.cfm' target='_blank'>Discover Myrtle Beach Website - Hard Rock Park Preview Review</a>

Also Sun News has a pretty good article deuce, but its fairly repetitive to every other review out there (thanks to copy and paste The Sun News seems to have alot more writers working for them it seems)

This is insane. This ferris wheel (see pic) is actually part of the Premier roller coaster. This coaster will feature Mini Cooper cars which rolll onto the ferris wheen, then be rotated to the top, and then roll of onto the track! ewww ahhh!

Non-speculated version
I dunno, but the dude over at screamscape said that he spoke with Jan Sherman, Asst. VP of Creative Services for Sally Corp and the only thing that she would release to him is that “This ride is going to be something completely unique... unlike anything we have done before (or that anyone else has done as far as we know)”. There is something huge that HRP is going to release to the press in the next few months. They havnt said anything more than just, "we will be releasing huge news in the next few months...blah blah blah." I wouldnt be surprised if the news pertained to the dark ride. The only thing that is definite right now is that the dark ride will be located in the British Invasion section of the park next to the Punk VS Disco bumper cars in one of the old Waccamaw pottery buildings. You can see the basic layout of the dark ride in this pic. taken of the model:

<a href='http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/stj2fni/darkride.jpg' target='_blank'>Dark Ride Layout</a>

Speculated version
Hard Rock Park recently filed for a few more new trademark names; which Include: All The Kings Horses, Just A Swingin’, the Kings Road Boutique, Irie Craft’s Bazaar as well as one for an attraction by the name of London Cab Ride. London Cab Ride could potentially be a practical name for the Sally dark ride located in British Invasion. Don’t you think?

On to other things, the listing for the Shake Rattle ‘n’ Rollercoaster trademark name is still active as well, so I’m a thinkin’ that this will be the name of the small white kiddie coaster seen in the Born In the USA area. I say that because all the other known coasters have been named except this one, and the name is a little more fitting for a rollercoaster than a popsicle stand.

No need to hide behind sarcasm to make a point little fella’. Don’t be afraid. I mean I strictly state in most instances whether I am being speculatory or not, and when I am not speculating it’s not like it would taken an exuberant amount of effort to track on over to the Hard Rock Park website and find most of this fairly easily obtained knowledge. In fact you should try backing up your sarcasm with evidence so that people would have more confidence in your post. If your curiosity is so inclined, I will take the time out of my day to send you an e-mail containing sources with names and address of people whom I personally know that visited the April 18th Backstage Tour Exhibition in Myrtle Beach, websites, phone numbers, etc. So I guess the real cliffhanger for me here is that I really can’t quite comprehend as to why you would waste your time as well as mine posting something completely in disregard to this topic. Hopefully you have many people in your life that value your opinion more than I. Please attempt to control your unautocratic urges and stay on topic, and if you cant at least maintain some dignity for yourself and IM me with your questions and/or concerns.

Everyone else (including you coasterdave):
I really, really, really value your comments on HRP as well as your comments on more general matters, and it would be my loss if this post were to be shut down due to the people who are not happy in their own skin. It is inspiring how many of you who keep your fingers on the pulse of the industry are so well versed and intent on preserving interest in this subject matter. I am grateful for each of you. Best regards to you and your families.

They have added a whole new tab (Classic Albums) on the Hard Rock Park website (park, not corporate) containing an archive of “tons” of photos taken from all the different stops from the Backstage Tour. The photos include shots of various memorabilia that they picked up along the way. There are no captions so unless you are in touch with your nostalgic side or maybe you just have a few more years behind you that the rest of us, you may be clueless (as was I) about what half the stuff they picked up. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge in this area could expound on some of these memorabilia pics. to bring the rest of us up to par.

I couldn't resist the urge to check out the Classic Albums list, especially since most of the music involved in the HRP was what I grew up listening to, but when I click on the "classic albums" link, all I get is a map of the US with dead links that go nowhere. Exactly how did you get that list?

I dunno. Works fine for me. http://www.hardrockpark.com > Classic Albums.
I would give you the link but its active X so all the pages that fall under the umbrella of the main site have the same page.

I realize this is not very helpful. Check your internet options I guess. Page looks like this.

Read today that Midnight Rider will be a modified version of the Vekoma Mine Train 785m model. There are only a few of these in the world: Calamity Mine at Walibi Belgium in Europe, Diamond Devil Run at Ratanga Junction in South Africa, and a pair of clones in China at the two Happy Valley parks. For a fairly good reference check out the 785m model mine train ride at Happy Valley on rcdb here:

<a href='http://www.rcdb.com/ig1682.htm' target='_blank'>Mine Train at Happy Valley</a>

This one even has the side by side lift hills as does the one to be constructed at HRP.

Yes, I get the map photo. But all the links are dead. How do you actually retrieve the Classic Album lists from here? I tried at work on my Windows Vista OS computer (no luck) and tried at home on my Mac Tiger OS (no luck). Obviously not a well thought out web sight if I have to download a bunch of plug-ins to make it work.

A friend of mine rode a Mack Mine train in Japan with side by side lift hills.

He said it was the best mine train he ever rode. This similar version sounds quite nice!! The news is getting better and better about HRP!

Im sorry I can’t be any more helpful. Maybe someone could chime in and troubleshoot this problem. I honestly had no trouble at all with it. As I recall, I didn’t download any plug-ins to access that page or the pages that follow. You may try downloading Mozilla Firefox or if your using firefox try using IE. Is anyone else having problems with it?
