It’s not very often that we give you an update such as this.
Our 17th roller coaster, Maverick, will not open on Saturday, May 12.
During pre-opening testing on the ride, it was decided that we have to make some modifications to the track.
This decision was made based on discussions and meetings with the ride’s manufacturer, IntaRide. Three sections of the track following the launch tunnel will be replaced. The decision was made in the interest of improving the guest experience on the ride and to eliminate excessive stress on the trains.
We hope to have the ride open by early June.
Nobody is more disappointed than we are. All of us at Cedar Point were looking forward to riding as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we will all have to wait a little longer.
We ask you to be patient with us as we make these modifications.
Remember – we open this Saturday. Millennium Force, Power Tower, Raptor, Top Thrill Dragster, the Turnpike Cars, Calypso, Wicked Twister and the rest of our rides and attractions are waiting for you. Give them a spin.
