We are trying to decide which one to venture to. Distance isn't that big of a deal. Which one is better?

Well, Splash Country has the advantage of being next door to Dollywood. :P

I haven't actually been to Splash Country, but from what I can tell it is a nicer waterpark than Emerald Pointe, but doesn't have near as many rides simply because it is so much newer.

I personally wasn't impressed with Splash Country...granted I've only been there twice before it had gotten up on its feet- 2001 and again in '03.

Both times the park was packed. I got the feeling it wasn't built to handle so many people, as the walkways were narrow, the concession areas were small, even the restrooms had lines. Except for a few tarp canopies set up around there was no shade at all. (Perhaps it has filled out now that the trees have had time to grow in) The biggest letdown was the employees - they just didn't seem to have the same attitude and spirit as those down the road at Dollywood.

The park's slide selection was very basic at that time, though several have been added since I last went.

If you do go to Splash Country, you could squeeze in a trip to Dollywood too. However if you only intend to go to a waterpark I would say Wet N' Wild because at this point it seems to be better rounded.

I think emerald pointe is the best. If you go in the middle of the week, it isnt crowded. I barely waited in line for anything. Plus, I think the slides are better and the staff is friendlier.

I like both a lot.

Spalsh Country is awesome...the theming, some cool new slides, the lazy river...it really is a lot of fun and to me the employees were friendly.

Wet n Wild is so much fun....great selection of slides (though some more tube ones would be nice.) a fun tsunami wave pool, etc..

To me they are about the same, Wet n Wild=older, but a great selection.

Splash Country=newer, lots of tube slides (which imo, wet n wild lakes.) some great body slides. idk, they both are about the same.

I would choose wet n wild for an awesome day trip n Splash Country/Dollywood for a fun mid week few day trip.
