General Carowinds discussion

Screamscape thinks theyll do something big at Carowinds next year to compete with the new Hard Rock Park. Id say that would be smart of them to build a major new attraction but you never know.

It would certainly be a good idea for CF to consider something major at our park. After all, it's been several years since Borg, last year SFOG got Goliath, and next year Hard Rock is opening. Still, dividing the dollars between so many parks must be hard, each with a certain set of needs. I sure hope we get something big and great, on the order of Nitro at GA, would be my personal suggestion, at the very least a Huss Giant Frisbee...and an S & S Giant Swing... Right....

Maybe theyll bring back the swings repainted and in a new spot.

I would drop what I was doing and go ride the swings. How needs a Sit Down B&M when you can have SWINGS BABY!!!!!

You have to be kidding with that replay Football Kid.

Speaking of HArd Rock Park, anyone seen the Hard Rock Kid of late?

He is scrambling trying to get the park finish. He realized the time spent rehashing 2 week old information that was posted right before his could have been used to get the park ready for opening day so he is behind!

As far as something big...yeah right <_< !

I never said i believed screamscape. But i agree it would be smart to build something to compete with HRPs opening.

Screamscape if I recall also reported that we were getting a hyper last year.

Don't take what they say too seriously.

But if Cedar Fair was smart, they would do a major investment though to compete.

I think if they were smart they would NOT want to compete. I mean honestly...would you rather go to carowinds because it got some cool new ride or to a brand new very interesting did I say new theme park! Regardless of what they get next year im more inclined to go to hrp to check things out...

People are going to go to HRP no matter if Carowinds puts in a 475ft Intamin! The park really doesn't have to compete. A new BIG attraction would be nice though.

But, I don't see HRP taking people away from the park. Hell, it might do the park some good! People stopping by on their way to the beach!

Yeah Wes, somebody reported to Screamscape about a hyper all because of the C3 flyer for last year. That's one reason I haven't put so much credence into that site. I even told him that it was a joke and he was like "let's wait and see."

On top of that, when rumors were flying around that Carowinds was going to get a used Vekoma flyer, all he could say was that is not plausible and it won't happen. About a month later we find out Carowinds is reconstructing PGA's Stealth.

When too much personal opinion effects any news-worthy site all credibility goes out the window.

I understand what you guys are saying.

I'm just looking at it from a business side I guess.

If I'm a family and I can only visit one park, sure HRP is going to be heavy on my "must do" list for next year.

But if Carowinds has something really cool looking, it might sway the vote.

Kinda like when Scott was talking last year about competing with SFOG and the effect Goliath would or wouldn't have on Carowinds.

But I kinda think Carowinds will get something new next year anyway, since we got really nothing much this year.

All we can do is hope I guess. :)

I wouldn't get my hopes up. You won't get a B&M Dive Machine, that's for sure.
