I think Cedar Fair is going in the right direction with the look of the park! It feels more open and generally looks great!

I don't understand the negativity towards Cedar Fair here. Their management of Carowinds won't be any different from the last 5 or so years of Paramount where they ripped out all the trees and whatever else was leftover from the old days.

Honestly I haven't seen much change in the park this year.

Some things have been better, some not so much.

Pretty average so far to me.

Just hope we don't get those yucky faded out red/blue Cedar Point uniforms that they must reuse 2,000,000 times. :rolleyes:

LOL. I had to resist taking pics of the trash cans at CP and GL. :D

And yes, I'll get around to doing a trip report soon.

And it's NOT my fault that Wolf Bobs derailed Saturday. I was on it Wednesday. :P

So you're the one who broke the Wolf Bobs!!! We were there on Monday and they were closed, among other rides. Plus it was like 100 degrees :(

Dominator = :P

I was at Carowinds Thursday afternoon, my first trip there since about 1996. I found the park to be very pleasant, and most of the employees were genuinely nice, even if a couple seemed a bit uninformed. I got a laugh out of a young man working on Thunder Road. I told him as we were waiting to board that I remember well riding Thunder Road the year that it was built, to which I got a very shocked look. After the ride, as I was getting out of the train he asked me if the ride has changed much in all those years, to which I replied that it actually had not but that I definitely had! I still enjoyed Thunder Road immensely, but the cars seemed a lot smaller than they did 'way back when... :D

I only stayed in the park about two hours, and frankly I did not see a great deal of it, but I liked what I saw. Very clean, with a well-kept appearance. Since I had not been there for a number of years (over a decade!), it was very different than I remembered, but still an extremely nice park. I'm glad I didn't stay long enough to have to eat while there...the prices were shocking for food and beverages! :angry:

Well, these are different trains than the ones way back when . . . The divider in the seats of these trains can make for a tight fit.

Not for me! lol. Lucky for me, i'm only 5'4'' and 120 pounds, so i fit in quite nicely. But i can see how it is tight for someone that isnt me and abnormally small. My dad even had trouble fitting in it right, and he's not a big guy.

Yes, I always cringe when I see a seat divider in a "new" coaster for me to ride.

I've lost enough though now that it doesn't bother me nearly as much, but I'd say after another 20lbs gone it won't even be an issue for me.
