The Saturator will soak no more after Sept. 3.

Get that credit while you still can!

Wonder how many Trash Cans it would make out of it. Guess this is the family way of Cedar Fair. It is great that they care about the family it seems with taking out something the family can enjoy together.

Guess the park is going to turn into the South's Version of Michigan's Dump Adventure. Guess I can go three years without going to the park now. Just think in twenty years it will be like a new Carnival.

Well Dave, after they build my Multi-level Parking Garage next year they have to have trash cans inside. So my guess is to save money, by melting SS, it will give them plenty.

I haven't been to the park in 2 seasons either and live 4 miles away. I don't really won't to get into the specifics but after 32 years of patronizing Carowinds, I have pretty much lost my desire to go there. And it's moves like this that help perpetuate my feelings.

Cedar Fair is merely picking up where Paramount left off. Search & destroy!

BTW, I am a Sept 6 baby! :D

It will be missed, my first coaster actually. I can see it now, The Last Soak Event.

Honestly (and I know I'll get attacked for saying this but frankly I DON'T CARE)...it wouldn't be that much of a loss in my opinion.

I don't really care that much about water rides.
The ride has very low capacity.
The ride really isn't that popular anymore. Even on busy hot days, the lines aren't that long for the ride.

Sure I hate to see any credit go and it would only be the 2nd coaster to leave Carowinds, but I won't shed any tears over it.

*ducks*

I wonder if it's to late for hardrock park to pick this up! I have to say I am shocked B) at this news and I knew I should have ridden it when I was at the park this past wednesday :o ! I was just telling the person who I was with how the ride just isnt the same w/ the synching of the water cannons and how the pool use to be blue but now...

I'll hold my bashing on cedarUNfair until they anounnce what is going in it's place...

I have to agree...I mean c'mon guys, if a coaster has to go, Super Saturator is easily my first choice. (I'm happy its not the Goldrusher right next door) If the park isn't willing to maintain the water effects, then the ride is pretty much pointless.

Duke & bgwfreak, I can agree that if a coaster had to go, that one would be the logical choice (although I would prefer BORG).

My opinion leans towards the fact that this was a "world's first" coaster, and we will no longer be able to enjoy that status once it's removed.

It also unnerves me a bit to realize once again that parks will do what they want to do without any regards to historical significance or popularity of an attraction. Sux Flags, Cedar UNFair (as coasterbruh calls them) and Paramount have all been guilty of that.

I'm not really pissed about the removal of FSS, it's more over the fact that another "first" is being removed. But like coasterbruh said, I'll wait until I see what replaces it before I make my final judgement.

I've ridden SS like 2 times, but it was fun those times I did ride. Yes it has a low capacity, but like swampfox said, it was the worlds first and I thought Carowinds would build up, not take away? I do wish Borg would go away also and something a little more interesting would go in its place. But anyways, weird news out of Carowinds.

SS was awesome when it debuted. These past few years a lotta the water features were not working, or barely workng, but still, i would rather them add to the park than take away. Another first to leave the park of firsts, i mean, really, we do have a lot of firsts for parks. First coaster to cross state lines, first water park attached with no seperate admission, first coaster with four inversions, first and only park to stradle state lines, and the list goes on. Whats next, they gonna remove the state line or something? lol

Well all I'm saying is that if CF puts in a new coaster or nice flat in it's place, you'll probably never hear another peep out of enthusiasts.

That would make a nice spot for a hyper station. ;)

Maybe it will end up at Geauga Lake. :)

I've only ridden it once and that was because the water was turned off. I hate to see Carowinds lose a coaster but I like Wes' train of thought about this.

Honestly, I don't care if it's removed at all. I rode it once a few years ago, it sucked, I never need to ride it again. It's been a waste of space in my opinion, low capacity, varying popularity (and slow lines). I know I'll probably get bashed for that, but that's the way I feel. Does it really matter if it was the first? I mean, if it were the first hyper or something, yea i'd be a bit ticked off, but the first small family swinging coaster like that? ...I could really care less about that first (Heck, look at the first swinging coaster The Bat, it got removed...I know that's a slightly different case, but still). I don't get why some of you are calling it Cedar UNFair because they are removing a ride...Carowinds doesn't have a whole lot of space after all (due to horrible land use by Paramount...take the empty space between BORG and Goldrusher as an example). If they replace it with a flat ride, I'd be more than thrilled, that's one more ride that I will go on now (I love spinning rides, so any would do, or a non-inverting swinging ship, or anything like that). Again, this is all just my opinion (of course I would prefer some NICK removal, but that's just b/c I hate NICK lol, RRR would be my second choice after FSS...that this is a nightmare headbanger, but not sure how it is for kids), so anyone is welcome to disagree, but this doesn't really affect me as I never rode it (except for the credit) and have always thought it to be a bit of a waste of space.
