As it isn't a great coaster, it is a good ride on a hot day to get you wet. I still think it should be moved into the back of the water park. The ride isn't as popular as it once was. Would actually fit in nicely there.
I saw it mentioned, why do they keep the Goldrusher around? Is it because it was the first coaster at Carowinds? I saw take it out too and put a nice coaster in the place of GR and SS. Goldrusher has become a boring ride to me. What is funny, you have to be 48" to ride GR, but you can ride Scooby Doo at 40"(And yes I said Scooby Doo, it will always be Scooby Doo to me before you light me up on that!). There is no reason a small child couldn't ride GR with an adult.

Allow me to retort your removal of Goldrusher you would like to see. You want to take a pretty high capacity coaster out that anyone from five years old to 99 years old can ride? Think I will just stop there since I think that was enough to retort at the present time.

The coaster might be boring to you but I will almost beat it will still be there for many years to come.

This is the only part I agree with. This is extremely ludicrous. 48 inches to ride Goldrusher? You can barely fit in the train at 48 inches!

Dave, that is fine. I was really just wanting to see why it was around still, my wife said basically the same you did. She won't ride anything with big dips or loops, so I guess I found my answer.
But I would like to know why you need to be 48". Is it because it doesn't have but the oldstyle lapbar and not individual lapbars like Thunder Road? It is a very tame ride, similar hill size as Scooby Doo, and doesn't have dips like Scooby. I guess that is what puzzles me most. Cyclone, Thunder Road, and Hurler have the same restrictions, but not in the same class. Those are Thrill rides, Goldrusher is a family ride.

GR sucks for me, but families and kids love it. GR was the first ever ride at Carowinds and I feel it should stay to remind us of the past at Carowinds. If you took GR away, the only family (tame) coasters are Scooby Doo and Reptaur. Hey Arnold is just a kiddie coaster and thats all! So, GR stays and someday, Carowinds will extend the park into vacant land, but I am sure that CF wants to maximize the space inside the park right now. Flats will probably make a come back due to a shortage in space! I do wish for a nice coaster though!!!!!!!

Hmmmm - more clues, perhaps?

Salt Lake paper story on Setpoint Yeah, that Setpoint, the ones that built FSS.

Basically, that story says that the founders of Setpoint are selling a controlling interest in Setpoint Systems (the industrial automation part of the company) so they can concentrate more on the amusement rides affiliate company.

On Thrillnetwork, Zagreus dropped a hint about "going home again" as to where Saturator might go. My guess is "home" is back to Utah at Setpoint. Maybe this is somewhat like the situation with The Bat at KI - prototype ride, had some issues, gets removed and sent back to it's maker. I'm not sure if Arrow did anything with Bat, but I'd guess Setpoint may want to use FSS to test things for a an improved future model.

I doubt this really means anything different for Carowinds - FSS is still leaving. This probably just means that if this theory is correct, it won't be popping up at Geauga Lake or Michigan Adventure next year like some have speculated. It sounds like there will be more Setpoint rides in the future, though. Wouldn't mind a new, improved Saturator IN the waterpark down the road.

Now, we still have to figure out what, if anything, is going in that soon-to-be-open space. Could a hyper reach the bridge from there? :P

Yes. Of course.

This news makes me kind of sad, as i never was able to ride this. I've only been to the park once when it was open, and the line was about 2 hours long for it.

However, i'm sensing the hyper is finally coming. ;)

I had a feeling that FSS would be leaving Carowinds for Hard Rock Park. Even though HRP shows tha Emerald Point water coaster, it seemed strange that all of a sudden, Carowinds was letting FSS go? I mean, I could be wrong here, but it's just a feeling!

Yesterday I went on the FSS and you couldnt drop water bombs!!! It hit 102. The only way you could get wet is if someone sprayed you. I read that the water coaster at Emerald Pointe was going to HRP.

Yeah, I think it might be going to Hard Rock as well, but nothing official has ever confirmed that.

I say it is not going to Hard Rock Park. I am 99% sure it is not and do not read to much in that rumour that Lance posted on Screamscape before anyone brings that one up.
