I haven't been to Carowinds this year and was wondering has CF made any changes regarding the food offered at Carowinds regarding food quality, pricing, menu changes, etc.

No, no changes that I've noticed.

:o Oh no costerbruh, I didn't want to hear that. What about the refillable discount cups? I still have a few from last year, are the cups the same?

yea, that's the only real negative i can think of that has come with CF so far.

I didn't notice an increase in food prices (they were always ridiculous). Now I don't know how much those refillable drinks cost in the past, but refills are now like $2.25 (almost as much as a drink)....that's a real ripoff IMO, but I guess they figured out most people who go are locals who visit multiple times, so they were (not losing money, but) making less money.

yeah i do remember now that Wings took out the Coke machine from the middle of the restaurant.

How cheap can the park be? That little bit of money they'd spend on the refills is nothing really when you paid $2.25+ for the drink. We can't have a refill of that?

If holiday world can offer free drinks, then surely Carowinds can!

This is why I hardly ever eat at the park. Sorry, but it's true.

Mediocre food at rediculous prices...still.

1. drinks now cost 3.49, instead of 2.99
2. Food has gone up as well, fries and other items are up 50 cents to a dollar fifty
3. No Wings Refills... therefore, no "write" [ask for water cup, fill up with sprite]
4. NO improvement in the food dept. from what I can see
5. Cotton Candy is like 4.00. I thought we might get some of that 25cent stuff that CP got?

CF = nothing better
You'd think at least efficiency would be better, but I've never seen more inexperienced, unenthusiastic ride ops in my life.

I don't want to hear KayKay talk on the phone to her friend about her problems for 25 minutes, I want to ride the flyers, thank you very much.

And my grandmother walks faster then the Drop Zone crew, and she isn't even alive.

Interesting, considering the ride ops they hire would be the same inexperienced, unenthusiastic ride ops that are hired every year locally. I don't get why people associate those occasional lousy ops and such on CF, it's just the local teens who are looking for money who apply...some years you'll get better ones than other, but it's not got to do with CF, just the people who apply.

Generally I haven't run into any problems like this. Now on Tuesday, the wait for Top Gun was 15-20 min in the station b/c they were only running one train, AND, the crew seemed to be really slow (usually, Top Gun is the best in terms of, they keep it rolling constantly). On occassion, you still get a bad crew, but generally they are about the same.

For those of you who have been to Cedar Point and perhaps the other CF parks, do they have better food? Price wise I remember seeing .25 cent ice cream & cotton candy promos at Cedar Point. I thought we might see an upgrade in food quality at the very least not just higher prices.

^ I thought CP was as high if not higher than Carowinds.

Plus they don't offer any other options, like here you have ChickFilA and a few other options.

At CP (excluding Johnny Rockets) it's basically just fries, burgers, pizza, etc. No real choices. Not that Carowinds has much more.

CP has a lack of sitdown places to me. Carowinds at least has 2.

This is one thing that has always lacked at most park to me, and one of the many reasons I love busch gardens - they have awesome food!

^ I dunno about that. Cedar Point had more full service sit down restaurants than I have seen outside of Disney (in fact I'm not sure if I can even think of another park with a full service restaurant; Indiana Beach perhaps), and I didn't find the prices to be *too* bad. Now, it has been a while since I've been there, but I remember a decent looking seafood restaurant over near Blue Streak, and a grill over near the kids area near Disaster Transport. I think there was at least one other full service restaurant, but I could be remembering wrong.

I am still hoping the 25 cent cotton candy makes its way to the other parks. Dave and I had a hell of a time with it at Worlds of Fun. 25 cents even, and the cotton candy was BIG.

CP has a Chick-Fil-A and several sit down full service restaurants. We ate at one saloon place where they have a show too (show wasn't going on at the time). I guess you could miss some of these on the map if they are only labeled for the shows.
