The announcement was actually suppose to be today (really! not the 28th) and it was suppose to be (I didn't come up with this folks....):

Well, its the 28th and I have yet to hear or see anything! I guess yet another year will past, or the announcement for anything new in 2008 was never actually scheduled!!! Hopefully, something is arriving and the announcement will be later on.

I never said it was confirmed, it was more a question than anything.

Between screamscape and all the other sites, these days I can't always keep up with the rumors and what was real and what wasn't.

I didn't really expect it today, but like I said I think I heard something about it earlier.

And it would have made sense with CW announcing theirs yesterday.

Now when will Dominator be announced moving to KD.

^Ugh. Thankfully we already have our B&M inverted, so they won't be tempted to chuck the SLC our way. I think in the interest of fairness they should ship that to Kings Dominion instead of Dominator. I mean, they only have one inverted coaster with Volcano, and we have two (Top Gun and Reptar). We should take the floorless so they can catch up to us in number of inverts.

Just remember kids, when you complain about Carowinds not getting anything, we could be Geauga Lake. Even if Saturator's spot becomes Dippin' Dots World and not home of a new ride, we're still far better off than that park. They're shipping half of it away, and I'm going to be surprised if it's not a mall in 5 years.

Of course Screamscape is saying that the "big 2008 project" for Carowinds is probably going to move back a year - so expect footers to be poured for the next big coaster any day now. I actually like when they predict we aren't getting something, since that site is wrong so often.

And I agree totally with you Ken, things could be much worse.

I don't imagine they'd start pulling coasters out of Carowinds... oh wait, they're just about to!

But with our attendance being strong, I can't see them yanking a bunch out.

Just a question, is the reason GL is getting coasters pulled from it maybe because Cedar Fair now owns 3 parks in relativly the same area? Cedar Point and GL is only about what, an hour or so apart, and Kings Island is about 4 hours away. Could this be a cost cutting move? Sad to see it happen, but it is a business.

I think one of the main reasons is because SF saturated the park with coasters in it's short ownership which it didn't really need (maybe a couple, but not THAT many)...and probably the cost to have, inspect, and run all those coasters is costing too much given GL's attendance. That's just my guess, we wouldn't know for sure unless CF told us for sure B)
