Hey everyone, new member but I have been reading all of your posts since the beginning if this community. Nice to "Officially" meet you all!

Anyway, I just have been going crazy about what I know about the plans of the near future... First there is a BIG rumor going around from within the park about the Borg (anyone working there know more? )... Second a Hyper is coming, Third the Saturator will be taken out after Scarowinds and construction will start for the Hyper at least that was what I was told. I did ask about Head Spin from Geauga Lake and was told this was not a sure thing, that they were looking at what would best fit Carowinds. But I was assured about the Hyper coaster and that the plans have been approved from the FAA, etc..

So take it for what its worth.. if anything at all to some folks..

I was told when I was hanging out with Matt Thiessen ( Relient K) at yesterday's show I asked the question to someone and that was what we were told.

As for the Borg, I also was told from another person yesterday that a rumor that was going around from within the park that it was being considered being moved back to California. Anyway rumors are just rumors and I am only posting what I was told.

So as I stated before " So take it for what its worth.. if anything at all to some folks.." I really do not care if anyone believes me or not. Again, just passing on what I was told.

Also for the record, I have been to Carowinds multiple times every year since the park was open... and the previous owners the Profits (who sold to Paramount) are my next door neighbors. So when I ask someone something I can usually get a somewhat honest answer around there.

I too would like to know what the park is planning. I mean, I don't want specifics as I like a surprise.

I'm actually more interested on expansion possibiliies. Rumors of resorts and the like were abound last summer.

Just wondering, why would Cedar Fair (or even Paramount a year ago) tell the Profits what they are planning for the part? That just sounds weird. There has been two owners since the Profits. Why would they still be calling them to tell them plans for the park? It just seems real unlikely.

Forgot to mention, we were also told Boom Bay is getting expanded into the employee lot. (that was the last thing we were told.) Although it was not clear about what was being done. We didnt talk too long about that we mainly talked about the Hyper coaster. I did ask the "under the bridge" rumor that was in 2003 and he laughed and said no. We did talk about Geauga Lake a little bit. Matt is from Ohio so he knows of Geauga Lake obviously. The Borg rumor was because of something to do with Birds around the sensors located at various points on the track and trains. Anyway, that is all that we talked about so I dont know of anything else Carowinds is planning.

I did'nt say the Profits were "told anything".. All I was stating was credibility. I am sure they dont have a clue to what Carowinds is planning, nor have I asked them anything on the future of Carowinds. I cannot tell you the person's name as I really dont remember nor care. He was wearing a suit and was with every white shirt security person and employee there it seems. If you or anyone knows who he may be .. more power to you. I didnt go there to see employees, managers, park staff, whoever... I went to see Relient K and just happened to ask the questions I did becuase I was talking about Geauga Lake with Matt Thiessen and what a shame it was to take out the ride side of the house.
