see thats what I'm worried about... seems like if something big was coming, we would see evidence of it by now

Exactly.

It was something like August 98 when B&M track started popping up next to Thunder Road...and I think it was Sept 03 when Stealth track started showing up in the grass over by the road.

If we were getting a hyper next year, me thinks track would have started showing up by now.

Maybe they are hiding it under the bridge for easy access!

In 2003, we had seen lots of little signs of "something happening" on the former Smurf Island, with rumors of a new B&M flyer going there on some sites.

By July, the rumors were heating up about Stealth being moved from PGA. In Early August there were signs that it was being removed, then later in August it was announced.

Still, it ran until early September before getting disassembled, and it was later that month and into October when it's track started showing up in the parking lot.

I'd say usually, we'd have seen something by now. Of course, that was under Paramount, and they always tried to have the new rides up on opening day. When CF did basically the same thing - move a Vekoma flyer from one park to another - it wasn't ready until later in the season. There still might be some slim hope for something major, but I'm certainly not getting my hopes up for it.

The good news is Screamscape is still saying we're getting nothing. :P

Man...I hope we get an announcement this week! They would certainly need to have the track here by the end of October. As long as a new coaster is open by Memorial Day I'm ok with it. It wouldn't have to be open for the start of the season in March. My 2008 season pass plans hang in the balance based on what they announce.

Canada's Wonderland already announced their hyper for next year...why would Cedar Fair take so long to announce Carowinds' hyper?

Coming to Carowinds in 2008!

Carowinds management is super excited to announce the addition of a bunch of used rides from some park up in Ohio that isn't Cedar Point!

Management was quoted saying: "We'll be glad to take these rides, slap a coat of paint on them and a few stickers and call them brand new! Even though some of them are over 20 years old!".

When asked about the supposed hyper coaster under the bridge, Mr. Anderson just laughed himself into a fit.

well I could understand not getting track until late sept-early oct for a used ride- it would make sense to wait until after the ride's last season at the park before pulling it down and moving it here

Dominator would look so sweet at the far end of the park when you get off the interstate exit for Carowinds.. man that would be great... and the gen. public would eat it up!

New for 2008:

Geauga Lake's Trash Cans will be added! "We want to preserve as much of Geauga Lake as possible," said a representative from the park. Other plans for 2008 will be announced soon.</span></span></span>

A couple of reasons...they get mighty bad weather in Canada so the window to build is much smaller than in NC and they had to get the GL announcement out there and decide how to distribute the rides...besides has any track started to show up at KD? Have they started to build there yet? Someone's going to get Dominator and try to have it up and running for next season. B)

True! Dominator has probably not even been started getting disassembled. With the mild-ness and lack of snow in Charlotte, I say that a late arrival is no problem.
