Well if the rumors hold true then Kings Dominion will get Dominator and Carowinds may get a brand new coaster for 2009, but still no official word so let the speculation continue... :ph34r:

I tell ya, I need to know what next year holds so I can plan on what to budget for. I have two seperate trips planned next spring for KD, KI and Cedar Point. KD I am still not 100% sure of, but if Carowinds has nothing new, then I need no pass. But if Carowinds does have something new, then I would be better off to get a platnium pass for my trip. I am getting a HRP pass b/c I go to MB atleast three times a year so it will pay off.

I e-mailed Carowinds about my concern and maybe they will soon release some type of information. If I have four passes to buy at $140.00 ea. I need to know what to do. Maybe soon I'll know? :angry:

That's just a rumor, nothing official has been released by the park.

I wanted the Top Spin. Heck, Great America already HAS some modern flats, where Carowinds needs modern thrill rides. I'd even forgoe a coaster for a couple years if we got some flats.

HOWEVER, having said that...

I think CF is missing the mark for 2008. With Hard Rock Park opening up and Geauga Lake closing down, they could have easily have taken Dominator or one of the wooden coasters (Preferably Villain) and put it at Carowinds to market something 'new and amazing' (to the locals) in light of the fact that I'd figure on at least more than a few Carolinians going to check out HRP next year.

I think we're a lock to get the Texas Twister and they may even throw in the spider, the swings and/or the big wheel from GL. That would be a sizable upgrade to the flats at Carowinds in one off season if we could get 3 or all 4 of those. Texas Twister would fit nicely in FSS spot. The swings and big wheel in the Thrill Zone/Boardwalk area and the spider in the County Fair section. CF may even surprise us with a brand new flat. I just hope they don't wait until January to let us know.

Texas Twister is going to Great America, they're already marketing it. Unless they got a brand new one, but I doubt it.
