They have several on the line, depending on the time of day.

If a train is in a station, the one behind it waits at the previous station until it clear the station (sounds like a coaster huh?) and then it proceeds.

New article about ridership.

They've already passed their projected ridership, which is good.

Maybe that will shut up some of the people that said it would never work.

Well we're 3 weeks into operation now and people really seem to still be using the service.

I caught it and went to South End for lunch today and my train was full going and coming.

They're still having problems with the dumb machines running out of change or acting crazy. But overall nothing major that I saw.

I'm also glad to see that CATS is using some common sense and only running double trains during peak times when they really need them.

Another update...

<a href='http://www.charlotte.com/breaking_news/story/410116.html' target='_blank'>http://www.charlotte.com/breaking_news/story/410116.html</a>

It's crazy to see that many people still using it. I'm glad they are using it for the games. Maybe the lots will lower their prices now. <_<

All my many trips to the god for saken city, I have yet to see a train run. I was uptown wednesday for a meeting and never saw a train come by my visit. They must have only one train it seems or something.

It runs every 15 minutes on off peak times during the day (from each end).

During rush hour they're every 7.5, so they are a lot more common then.

I have yet to ride the light rail. I will probably try it out once its warmer. However a big dissapointment for me, is that the light rail stops service between 12:30pm -1am. I usually visit the uptown clubs (right around the corner from the 7th street station), and they dont close till 2am. As somebody who lives just south of the 485 station (in pineville), I'd like to see them expend the service until atleast 2am. Do you think in the spring-fall months they'd have more business during that time frame when people leave the clubs? I know there is a surge in nightlife during the summertime.

PS: Anybody have a contact person for the light rail?

That was kind of a shocker to me too. The one in Minneapolis had the exact same hours which I didn't understand either. What's the point of even running it late at night if you are going to stop an hour before last call?

A while back I had heard a Lynx employee say they may run trains until 3am on Fri & Sat. by summer. I had to leave a concert early at Amo's a few weeks ago just so I could get the last train back to 485.

We are taking it to see the Pink Floyd Experience Thurs at the Belk. It should be over by midnight though. Can't beat the accessibility of this for uptown entertainment. Beats riding around forever looking for a good parking lot and then having to pay on top of that.

This Lynx contact number may help you 704-336-RIDE

The website seems to be down at the moment but it may be back up soon:

Most public transportation runs later on the weekends eventually. I know that the Vegas Monorail, which runs till like 1 or 2 am on week days, runs really late on weekends.

Of course, they have the deuce that runs 24 hours, so that helps.
