Well, we know the state of Carowinds in 2008. Bondi, New Sign, Retracked Thunder Road, HOPEFULLY re-painted BORG and Cyclone, Most likely more scenery (ie fountains, flowers, trees, and that gold display that reads "Carowinds" in the entrance will either be changed to the new logo or be taken down, cause its annoying me hah.)

So, In '09, where do you see Carowinds?

Here's my 2 cents:

Honestly folks, I don't see a coaster coming for us. I see a great flat like a maxAir sort of ride, or a swings ride like at Wild Adventures. OR, another adition to the water park in the form of a Tornado slide or something.

So what's you're take?

Where do I see Carowinds in 2009?
I see Carowinds in 2009 with a new flat ride or coaster trying to get attendance up because attendance leveled out or dropped in 2008. I do not see the golden Carowinds logo going anywhere nor do I see Cyclone or BORG getting repainted.

I want a new coaster, and if we don't get it in 09 I might go another year without buying a pass. <_<

This is the first time I have seen Wes ever say he is not buying a pass in 2009. Now we all know he has not bought one in 2008 since I think I have saw him talk about it afew times.

BORG was built in 04 correct? Chances are it will be repainted between 2014 and 2016. Vortex opened in 1992, and didn't get repainted until 2004. Cyclone's last paint job was I believe 2001 or 2002. If any ride needs to be repainted it is Top Gun. Count your blessings that Cyclone is still there because had Cedar Fair not brought the park, Flight of Fear would be where Cyclone is.

Flight of Fear instead of Cyclone doesn't sound like a bad trade to me....

However I would say that in 2009 will see one extreme or the other happen. I'm gonna go against my doomsday theory and try to be more positive as it's almost Christmas. On the positive side I would say there will be a major investment but possibly at a price. We may very likely see a ride leave for another one. 2009 could be a year for a new coaster possibly a Behemoth clone also an addition of a larger possibly relocated flat ride or water park addition (ie: bowl or tornado slide but likely the bowl)

This is very much against my gut feeling but it's the holidays so i'll play nicer.

More than likely the entire park will be relocated to Foxboro, MA where it will be renamed Bradyland.

BORG also was given a cheap paint job coming in, as to where Vortex's paint job was extensive and detailed. I mean, for god sakes, Vekoma wheels dont even touch the damn track so how could all of that f***ing paint be chipped off?

Vortex's new paint mostly faded away by the end of 2004. While I don't doubt that the BORG paint was cheap. The Vortex rails were painted white in 04, by the end of the season all of white had chipped away. Most of the coasters get their paint jobs touched up every few seasons, and if one looks close enough they can see that. Yes, BORG looks bad with the red spots showing but most season pass holders don't even ride it anymore. I seems to be that BORG's popularity has fallen since mid-2004. BORG is more than likely my least ridden coaster however, I would rather ride it than Reptar or Top Gun. BORG's line just moves too slow for the wait to be worth it.

Look, I'm not asking for a thousand dollar plus paint job here. Im talking about a nice touch up to at least improve the quality of the park, regardless of whether or not season passholders ride it. What happens when someone just paid 50 dollars each for a family of, oh, 5 people, and sees that? That shows that "Cedar Fair Dosen't Care" about us, and therefore making attendance plumit because of the bad quality exposure....I mean, when THAT happens, they're gonna put a hyper or sit down OR EVEN F***ING HYPERSONIC in Carowinds for '09? Nah, not on Dick's watch.

Didn't Screamscape ,have a rumor going around that the Yo Yo swing ride was rumored for Carowinds (possibly) <a href='http://www.screamscape.com/html/world_news.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.screamscape.com/html/world_news.htm</a>. ( under Ohio)

Borg does need a touch up of paint. Regardless, people will still ride it with it's long a** lines.

But I hope 2009 brings us a Coaster that is original and some type of flat.
Besides, we better be getting something new cause all the other Ceder Fair parks recieved good additions recently. I'm talking about from 2006 and up. It's our turn. :angry:

Wow! I didn't realize Michigan's Adventure coaster timeline. They haven't seen a coaster since 1999. I guess after Borg and all these other coasters & rides being relocated to other parks, Carowinds doesn't have to be the only park in the chain with used ride(s) know. <_<

I guess it pay's to be patient. But it feel's like Carowinds is getting Punked! LOL!
