General Carowinds discussion

Does anyone think that we have a shot at getting this at PC? This would be a ride that I would expect to see at Disney or Universal.

For those of you that don't know what I'm speaking of......<a href='http://thrillresearch.com/start.asp?StudyCode=RIDE2005' target='_blank'>Screamscape</a>

For some reason the link is not working, but you can go to screamscape under the rumors section and read and do they survey from Paramount.

Just took the survey. That Adams family ride looks incredibly detailed. I already wanted to ride one of those coasters. having a strong theme will make it a very popular attraction and repeatable on many levels.

The Italian Job sounds fun and interesting, I just don't like the theme. (Too much of a now movie that will fade away)

I agree that the Italian job looks interesting, but that it wouldn't last or have the lasting value like the Adams Family ride. Not to mention that a Verticle drop coaster would be an awsome addition to PC.

Other than Oblivion, I can't think of any other verticle drop coasters. Are there any in the US?

It's funny how I was looking here the other day when there was a post on Future attractions.

<a href='http://www.ridesworld.com/cgi-bin/ridesworld/page.cgi?p=link_frame&ID=1147' target='_blank'>http://www.ridesworld.com/cgi-bin/rideswor...k_frame&ID=1147</a> Go to Rides and look at the "Mine Diver" attraction.

I love the Adams Family idea. You kind of get a coaster and a great Theme ride all in one. It takes Tower of Terror a step further which is awesome.

As far as The Italian Job goes I also would like that but just the name or theme don't cut it. If they made it a Tomb Raider attraction with Jeeps or Hummers then that would be a must do.

The Addams Family ride is definately a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter model. <a href='http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery2163.htm' target='_blank'>Click Here</a> and you'll notice the similarities.

I think the Adams Family Vertical Drop should be Mission Impossibly Vertical Draop and it goes right with the movie

I really would like to see the Adams family drop coaster at Carowinds, and as everyone has already said, it would be a great addition to the park. I'm glad that Paramount is and wants to change their direction and make rides more themed towards certain movies. The Italian Job ride would be great, but with a different theme. They should themes that aren't current fads, but that are movies that are classic and will be popular or liked years from now.

I always thought that the Addams Family would have made a great dark ride for one of the parks. I could see an Addams Family inspired Tower of Terror type ride. I think you'd have lots of appeal with the AF instead of the Italian Job.

Now with the long lasting movies in mind...

Paramount needs to theme rides to Indiana Jones and not tomb rader!

Tomb Rader is just a fad but Indiana Jones will be popular for a very long time, after all, it's a classic. It's also a better movie. period.

G5 and Oblivion are the only B&M Verticle Drop coasters. I think they are mirror image clones? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Tomb Raider, although a movie that didn't do to well, makes a great theme that is easy to follow along with. I am sure Paramount will add Tomb Raider attractions to its parks.

Although Paramount movies. Disney and some others have elclusive rights to the Indiana Franchise at the moment. Tomb Raider is the next best bet for adventure themes in the parks. Laura Croft does have a pretty long lasting game/movie establishment.

I'm guessing Paramount will do the next Indiana movie??? But I guess Lucasarts has the say over ride and merchandising rights???

I suggested that they use the concept of the Italian Job ride, but on a movie that is much more recognizable. If they did something like that with Tomb Raider, I think we could possibly have a ride that could match up to Indiana Jones: Temple of the Forbidden Eye at Disneyland.
