If the park wanted it gone they wouldn't have had it drawn into the plans, and they wouldn't have had it turned around and put in a new position. But, perhaps I am wrong, and this is all a huge stunt to anger coaster enthusiasts.
Well, I never said it was a conspiracy of any sort. I was more of the opinion that corparations that run parks tend to forget their heritage.
IF the Queen is gone for good then it is a sad day for the park and people that have been going to the park since it opened. Not much remains now. Heck even the stones out front with the county names are gone is memory serves.
I am all for progress but don't you have to remember the past to forge ahead into the future?
Anyway , I feel like the Queen is dead and buried now. Gone the same route as the monorail , sky buckets and many other of the "original" attractions.
I truly believe that if someone had the land and money to start a park geared toward the very young and older crowd at the same time they could make a mint (ala Disneyland).
I wonder how long before the skytower, is removed. Now it is the thing I think of when I think of Carowinds. It is what (kind of) sets the park aparts from the rest of the parks.
Another park staple that I would hate to see go would be Thunder Road. Are new wooden coasters even being built? There is just some character, in my honest opinion, that you lose on a steel coaster. I would think that the age or TR and the fact that it is wooden would make it a candidate for removal in the near future. If TR is ever removed I will not return to Paramount's parks anywhere.
Now the younger posters can flame, bash and trash me all they like...
