I am kind of surprised they didn't take this opportunity to build a Nick Central/Universe in the park.

They have the right to use/buy the names and such like the former Paramount parks. I'd think it would be a good move to add some characters kids are more familar with.

I guess that's why I don't run a park chain though (or run for government office). Common sense is so 20 years ago.

I would say in about 2-3 years i think all CF parks will have something Nick in them. It could be rides.

I would say in 2-3 years Nicktoons will be gone from the PP. I see alot of common sense in sticking with Snoopy. CHEAPER! Cedar Fair is trying to pull themselves of debit not drive them selves in more. Have you ever noticed that all but three Nicktoons in our Nick Central aren't even shown anymore. It is only three to five years old. In five more years, if the Nicktoons aren't removed before 2010, the area will have to be updated again anyway. It isn't always what is good for the guests or the park, but sometimes what is good for the company.

I think expanding the Nick brand to all parks will help with that debt in the long run. Cedar Fair would be makeing Career suicide if they drop the Nick brand.

It's just not good busniess.

Think about it. They would make a heck of alot more money selling the Nick Brand then they would Snoopy. 90% od todays kids has no clue who snoopy is.

Cedar Fair is NOT Disney, no one takes their kids just to see Peanuts, Hanna-Barbera, Nicktoons, etc. Families go to amusement parks to have fun and get away from the world. Cedar Fair could drop all cartoons and attendance would not be affected. Nicktoons, Peanuts, Disney, etc they are marketing schemes to get kids attention. Parents aren't going to take their kids just because their kids want to go. Enterainment is enterainment no matter what face is on it.

I'm sure if Carowinds did away with Nick maybe attendance would stay but i think there could be a slight decrese but not worth worring about.

The thing they would have to be worried about is the Millions they would loose every year in revenue.

Nick=Millions of dollars every year for Cedar Fair. If they we're smart they should have Nick in every park by 2010.

Even though we are not Disney taking all cartoons away from the parks would be just like shooting oursleves in the foot. When kids come to a theme park half of their enjoyment comes with seeing their favorite cartoon character in real life. The joy the kids get on thier faces when they see their favorite character is just great. This is especially true for those guest who dont like to ride the big rides and enjoy being with the characters and riding the cartoon themed rides. So even though you might not think characters draw attendence think again.

I mean just look at the Nick parade and how many people it draws young and old.

Too bad last year was the end of the Nick parade :( I'll never understand what the big guys at CF think half the time.

Just curious, how many hours a day do you work?

I was watching one of those shows on Travel channel and they were saying some really high number I think. Like 12 hour days which sounds crazy.
