$50 for tickets. Are they crazy? I doubt their attendance will be good. Thats doule the price of Carowinds for 75% less rides.

I'll just wait for my free tickets to come along.

What? Carowinds single day tickets are $45.99. The 2 day tickets break down to $26/day, but compare apples to apples. They won't have any problem packing that place, they are at a family vacation destination. The attractions may be a little light this year, but will be fun no doubt. I can't wait to get my thrill on in July, probably will go late in the day, hopefully the crowd won't be as bad and I can get some rides in.

The pavilion was over $30 for a ride all day band and it was less than half the size of this park.

I expect this will be the cheapest prices ever are. This will be like going to an Orlando Park, and we all know how different their economics are.

Pavilion was 26.99 a person, I still have my wristbands from the final season. Pavilion may have been smaller land wise, but Pavilion had more rides.
1)Hurricane
2)Haunted Hotel
3)Mad Mouse
4)Tilt-A-Whirl
5)Carousel
6)Little Eagle
7)Top Spin
8)Log Flume
9)Hydrosurge
10)Catipiller
11)Wave Swinger
12)Pirate
13)Calyso
14)Scooter(Bumper Cars)
15)Enterprise
16)Antique Cars
17)Treasure Hunt
18)Wipeout!
19)Rainbow
20)Scrambler
21)Starship
22)Sleigh Ride
And doesn't include the kiddy rides. I dare say Pavilion was better than Carowinds in flat rides, but not even close in coasters.

There is nothing that attracts me to Hard Rock Park other than two coasters, which doesn't get my attention enough to drive 5 hours, pay close to 50 bucks a person for five coasters and six(seven if the bumper cars come through) flat rides.

Any park is better than Carowinds when it comes to flat rides.

I disagree, all of Disney's rides are pretty much the same.

Ok any park besides Disney. LOL I forgot they have hardly any good flats.

Everything at Myrtle Beach is priced high b/c its a vacation destination. Most vacation spots are over priced especially those who only have one peak a year! Plus, being a vaction park, the park will not many return visits in a season b/c most are only there for a week max! Carowinds has many that return more than once a season and the season pass sells are way higher than HRP will ever dream of!

So we have about four people we know that will not be in line ahead of us now. To each his own for if you think the park is not worth you Hard earn money then you should not go to it. I for one think it will be worth the cash that I have spent to go.

How is the Family doing Roller? When is the little one due?

The Pavilion was $32 for a wrist band before the final season. Honestly, though, if $50 is expensive, don't go. Cause prices, much like orlando, will only go up.

Orlando parks are over $70 now, don't expect Myrtle to NOT compete with those prices. HRP is NOT a regional theme park, people.

BTW, Pavilion had been around for 50 years, of course it had a lot of rides. But how many of those were adult rides? And why do people expect a brand new park that isn't even open yet to have that many rides, jeesh, it's got more than a couple coasters, flats, shows, and more. I think what it has is plenty for now.

Carowinds had 17 rides when it opened in 1973. I just don't believe that Hard Rock Park is going to complete with the Orlando parks. I can't see a bunch of people traveling to Myrtle Beach just to go to Hard Rock Park. Disney has struggled when they opened new parks. On another note, there are parks older than Pavilion was that less rides.

Okay, what are you arguing, that there is or isn't enough rides here?

I don't think you understand that Myrtle Beac is in the top 5 tourist spots in the U.S. (I know it was #2 behind Orlando, but I couldn't' find current stats). No one is going to Myrtle Beach 'just for HRP' and no one here said they were. But the people are already going TO Myrtle, an area rapidly becoming a year round destination, and HRP is going to be popular BECAUSE people are already there.

Are you honestly really that dense?

It was also named the #1 beach in the US. I can't remeber if that was last year or 2006 or both years.

^ I think is was 2006 (pretty sure)! MB is such a huge destination and just one look at all of the rapid growth shows how big MB is projected to be. HRP will do great even with a low number of rides, but the park is new and will grow later into the future. People pay $25.00 to ride the sling shot once and there is always a crowd waiting to ride that thing...so $50 for an all day pass at a theme park is cheap compared to other attractions in MB!
