There might some hope...

(Screamscape)
Screamscape sources tell us that during “training” at the Kings Dominion this past week Rebel Yell was spotted running two forward facing trains and actually timing them out to “race”.

One can only hope this finds its way into Carowinds training as well. One of my favorite Cedar Point rides is Gemini, and it's cause you race and can slap hands in the turn around. I can only hope this happens at Carowinds (racing, not the hand slapping at 50mph).

75% is a joke. If they are going to race then they need to race 100% of the time.

I'll believe it when i see it. When i go to the park next time i expect to see them race every time. Even 9 out of 10 is a joke.

Just install one control panel and it will make it that much easier. How hard is that.

The new training that KD is doing might help Carowinds but they have to stop hireing ghetto & lazy people who would rather play around and check their phones then operate a ride.

TR has had the worst crew of any park i have been to for the last 5-6 years and that pretty bad since Six Flags usually has the worst crews.

No, Vortex had the worst crew in 2006 ever. I seem to remember someone who unbuckled seat belts while the train was leaving the station. Thunder Road had the best in 2005 and 2006.

Ya wanna know what I think is a joke? You thinking that the park will install one control panel when there isnt anything wrong with the current ones! If you want the coaster to race 100% at all times then get your happy *** off that boat and get back to carowinds. Even dueling dragons doesnt duel 10/10 times (and I have seen this in person myself)! I honestly think 75% is a realistic goal in a real world. If there is a problem w/ one side (be it a restraint issue or what not) should the other side wait for it to be remedied? Heck no! Send the train out, alone, so the other folks waiting on the brakes can get off and race the next go around. If you want a perfect park then stay at disney...and even they arent all that perfect!

Man i cant believe everybody i am gone for a little while and man everybody is having a fit.

All i hear is who had the best crew blah blah blah. I am not even going to throw anything out there about who had the best crew.

As far as T-Road flipping around i truly dont mind thats how it was originally so we should welcome it back. I even had some good old photoshop fun

It'll be sad to see the backwards go as its my favorite side of the ride to ride. But a little change is good - at least the park is freshening up. I like the single controller idea though.... it would allow for a wider exit to the ride to be built and all you have to do is build into the controllers an option to split the rides for super busy times and breakdowns.

Going on the note of Crews - My fav was 2006 - there were a lot of good and consistent employees who actually kept things pretty tight around the park - Seeing most of them gone kinda puts a damper on the park. Thunder Road, Top Gun, Cyclone, and Goldrusher were my fav crews that year. This year I barely got a ride in on Top Gun or Thunderroad because they were always going down or just too busy - something I rarely ever experienced in '06.

I'm still pondering though... I guess I should hurry up as its already March.

A few racers have one panel so what happens when one side goes down. I'm sure they have something for that and yes the TR could use new panels weather it be one or two. The current ones are as old as the coaster itself.

Yes the Yo-Yo came from GL.
I still can't believe CF installed that piece of crap at Carowinds. What a joke.

So you would rather the yo yo got scrapped?

I didnt' get to ride it last year, so I'm glad to have it.

I love swings, yo yo or regular version.

/quote] Not true, the Thunder Road panels were updated in 1994 when Hurler was added. I would rather we scrap mousey here than Carowinds scrap Yo Yo. While I miss the old Wave Swinger, I am thrilled that we are getting Yo Yo. Yo Yo may be a lackluster(proper word?) version of a wave swinger but it does provide a similar if not same ride as a Wave Swinger. Atleast they put a ride into the park instead of just adding a wavepool and/or slides to the waterpark. The ship has sailed for Thunder Road Backwards, so stop trying to weigh the anchor.

Hey i'm new to these fourms but I was thinking (I know it wont be done / probably wont work)., but to keep everyone happy each train has four cars, right? well take two off each train and put two forward and two backwards cars on the same train then you would have four identical trains. so I guess everyone would be happy

Not sure how the aerodynamics of that would work out, plus you would have to modify the coupling on all of the cars. Interesting idea, though. That is how Thunderation at Silver Dollar City is.

My dream for TR (and Hurler) which will probably never happen...is to have Millennium Flyers on both.

As I said, ain't gonna happen.
