Not a lot of info on what you think for 2008. Besides missing signs, how is the overall experience? Happy with the workers? Happy with the rides? Do you feel safe and well taken care of? Is it worth my time and money?

You won't get much response from this board this year, since everyone seems to be 'boycotting' the park.. but when I went a few weeks ago everything was pretty much above average. Every ride was open that could have been open and the employees looked like they actually cared. Then again it was only March...

You mean only March and no RollerNut. Based on what I have seen from in front of my computer, it looks a lot better than it did when Paracrap was running it.

I do, on Scream Weaver has not had a sign since 1992. The last section of OddCoaster has been unpainted since 2003/2004. Drop Zone: Stunt Tower was generic, so was Hurler, and Skyflyer. Alot of the stores were too. As for not being assembled, just remember Afterburn's had some supports removed in 2007...that shows real qaulity construction.

Well is the Yo-Yo any fun or not? I don't have an urge to go this year, but I know I will atleast be there once this year with my work. Our time for something interesting is coming (hopefully for next season?)!

Hurler was named after the famed line from Waynes World "dude im gonna hurl!".

How original can you be w/ a sky coaster that is upcharge anyway. It wasnt a themed attraction.

As far as top guns supports...they were done during the cedar fair era...and besides paramount cannot be responsible for the construction and aging of a support. It could have been a soil problem or something.

No where am I saying that paramount was the savior of carowinds but I just dont like it when people make it seem as if the park was some rats nest for vekoma or something.

The only bad thing I say paramount did was hire you lol. But they redeemed themselves when they...well you know what happen lol.

Actually no, I don't know what happened...
One day, RollerNut will have his own list to put names on, then I won't have to go to Charlotte to "Fly, Spin, Twirl." Oh, I did forget ride coasters!
(BTW, Cedar Fair was in charge at that point.)
When I do visit Carowinds again, I will be 1826 days older and wisier...and Carowinds will have morphed into a better park than it was in 2006, and RollerNut will happier than anyone will be when Carowinds finally gets the hyper under the bridge.

Outside of them using the name since they already had it trademarked, I can't say I ever saw any theme at all or anything that had any relation to that movie.

Then again, I never saw that movie.

Getting back to the original topic, it really depends on what you are going for. Not alot of new stuff this year, the Yo-Yo is new(sort of), but needs to be sped up. Kinda slow revolutions. I went opening weekend, and the crowds were smallish. They still had work to do on signs and everything, but whatever. Not sure where you are coming from or are local, you always have the water park to go to to pay for a season pass, and hop on some rides while there. If you are after coasters, you may want to go to HRP instead.

HRP is going to be an excellent park! I went to visit the park and did the VIP tour during march and the themeing and detail of everything is outstanding. I can't wait to ride Led Zepplin, but Carowinds has the more impressive line-up of coasters, so if u want some coasters, Carowinds is the choice by far!

I can really only speak for afterburn here, but IMO our crew is excellent. Everyone has a good time doing their jobs, work efficiently, ect.

I personally am highly disappointed by AB's new sign though, it looks like it was made of cheap plastic, and it really doesnt look that great to start with.
