Late May. I think they are pushing for the 23rd right now.

They better hurry. They are still working on the track on the side closest to Carowinds Blvd. Looks like they replaced alot of the supports on that side, as well as both turnarounds. Noticed it coming back from the Wachovia Championship last week. Could be done in time I guess, not sure how long it takes to retrack.

Late May, Early June.

Re-building a wooden roller coaster isn't easy work. And it needed to be done. It hasnt been nicely retracked at all since it opened in 1976!! Throw Carowinds a bone here, TR will be running better than ever when it opens!

While at the park yesterday I saw a crane above the lift hills. Looks like they are re-tracking the lifts. I woulda taken a picture but my phone went dead.

Thunder Road will open Memorial Day Weekend with the water park and Super Saturator.

Wouldn't it be nice if Thunder Road got new trains. Millennium Flyer trains would look nice running over the state line.

That would look pretty nice, it would also help smoothen the ride would it not?

Correction to my previous post: TR will open mid-June. It is definately taking longer than expected on the repairs.

I think it would smoothen the ride, new trains may be lighter than the heavy PTCs.

Why would TR need those type of trains? TR doesnt have any tight turns that can benefit from these trains...

Why would anyone need dessert, because some people can have their cake and eat it too. :P I didn't originally ask if they were needed, I asked if it would be nice. I suggested Millennium Flyers because they look similar to the trains from Jetstream, GCI is working on the coaster, and they may be lighter than the PTCs.
