General Carowinds discussion

Fox Charlotte reported two men were arrested for "suspicious activities" which included taking photos of Carowinds from outside the grounds.
Officials confiscated their camera and also found photos of downtown Charlotte buildings. Don't know any more details, but it sounds pretty ridiculous to me.

It is not a crime, I took photos all the time and the security guards always ask me what I was doing. I was even asked to show my photos one time. They always let me go, and said have a nice day.

And CMPD "obviously" has nothing better to do. If bull**** like this keeps going on with pointless arrests, serious crimes will grow in Charlotte. I would understand a group of men taking pictures..or something of that sort...but this is rediculous, now people can't take pictures of Charlotte's landmarks without being ridiculed or arrested, I'm dissapointed in this, very dissapointed.

HAHA I remember they did the same to me but I didnt show them crap. Once I would have seen a search warrant and a secret indictment then I would have cooperated but until then...KICK ROCKS!!!

A while back there was a horror story posted here (or somewhere else?) from some enthusiast that was nearly arrested for taking pictures of Thunder Road. Very similar to what was described in the above article.

Some guards saw this guy out in the parking lot taking pictures of the coaster, confiscated his camera, then took him to see the head of security at the park, who had him banned from visiting. She then threatened to turn him over to the police if she ever saw him on the property again.

So what is the problem here?? These guys were trespassing on a day when the park is closed. Taking pictures isn't a crime, but when the pictures look suspicious they are gonna call in the police. I don't have a problem with this after what we went thru in 911. Could it be blown out of proportion? Probably. If this is someone taking pictures of downtown, they would have more than just the bank towers.
Again, I am assuming this was done last night. The park was closed, there are locked gates at the entrance road. They were on the property, which is trespassing.
