It is up to them and Cedar Fair. I am telling you a used ride is better than nothing at all, or a waterpark slide or pool. I don't wanna see Carowinds go the way of Geauga Lake, Pavilion, AstroWorld, etc.
I disagree, as usuall Nut. Cedar Fair cares about one thing only...$$$$. Sure, they want to make us happy so we will spend money but they will not loose money just to make us happy.
If you keep building, as they have been building, you will end up loosing in the long run. Remember people do grow up and after a while they want some attractions that thrill the socks off of you. If they don't get that then you will see Carowinds go the way of other parks. Everyone I work with has stopped going to Carowinds because they have had nothing NEW in a while. Yea, new to Carowinds but not new to those who go to other parks and have already ridden that style of ride. Talk about used video games, how many time can you play Donkey Kong before you put it in the closet and never play it again?
Let's look back over the last couple years ok: Used Flyer coaster, kiddie world expansion with used/new stuff, heated baby pool and baby slide, upcharge go carts, nothing, wave pool and swings and more upcharge shade. That's 5 or so years that alot of people have grown up and outgrown those things. I have been a Family Season pass holder since 1998, visited the park at least 12+ times during each regular season and ate lunch IN the park everytime along with snacks and drinks but stopped last year as there is nothing at that park for me or my family. So, as you stated in your siggy, where did my money go? Now I might go once a year, and that is to Scarowinds because when I see what all the other parks get year after year it kind of doesn't settle well.
So, you can take your used attractions and go build your own park and let's see how you come out.
And come on, after 2 water park expansions we can't even get any new slides? With the variety of new fangled slides on the market all we can do is dig 2 holes, fill them with water and then charge people if they want shade? No thank you, I'll stay in my pool in my own back yard. At least I have a homemade slip-n-slide that I can move around for a different thrill.
I agree with CoasterDad here. Where we are located and the growth that is here in this area we should have NEW attractions with cutting edge technologies and not cookie cutter products.
