General Carowinds discussion

According to screamscape.com via kendrick construction, Carowinds is officially getting a relocated boomerang next year, and it's taking the place of the flying super saturator. The tops of the towers are going to be pointing back and over the Wings restaurant area.

Heres links to the construction (including drawings):

I wonder why the permit request have been filed so early, could Satie come down before Labor Day? I am thrilled that we are getting a new coaster, but I would be happier we a new water ride since we are losing Satie. The water rides tend to have long lines in the summer, so it would be nice to have a fourth water ride to shorten water ride lines. My 2006 Christmas wish has finally come true, but without a last ride. :( The elevation lines around Head Spin appear to show that Carowinds is intending on putting hills or valleys around Head Spin, I wonder if maybe they will keep parts of the pool.

Vekoma=the lowest quality coaster in the industry.
Two used Vekoma coasters at Carowinds = a continued slide down the theme park gutter. What an embarrassment! Does CF really think us southerners are stupid enough to be "happy" about this?? Oh, I can't wait to see what the marketing department does to hype this up. You would never think CF knew we had HRP, SFoG & DW within 4 hours of here. If they think this will drive season pass sales, they are sadly mistaken.
2009= another sad, sad year for Carowinds, and another reason NOT to buy a season pass or for that matter, visit the park at all .
This ride would be better off in the scrap yard. I'd rather see another wave pool than this garbage!
OK, calm down........:x
Note: I don't expect anyone to feel as passionate about this as I do. I'm sure plenty of you yungin's are just thrilled to get one of these dated pieces of garbage that will probably be down for maintenance more than not.
It is downright embarrassing for my home park to have 3 Vekoma's now. I am glad these plans have finally been made public as I have been waiting to vent my frustration.

I disagree, Carowinds is getting rid of a low capacity coaster that is borning for a higher capacity thrill coaster, and possibly the Nicktoons!

So I guess we have Swampie to began the Doom and Gloom for 2009. I am sure there will be alot of people that will dislike the choice for 2009 and will rant to their hearts content on here as well as other boards. But for once I agree with Roller that they are showing the door to a low capacity coaster for a Vekoma that has more capacity.

So what if it is a used coaster. Do you think the average park goer is really going to give two flips that it is a relocated coaster? All they see is a new coaster to them that they will eat up. You have to look at it from a business angle. I would go even as far to say that I would have done the same thing. Is there a coaster around here that is like Headspin? The correct answer to that would be no there is not. But I tend to look at things more from the business aspect than from the enthusiast aspect.

Calm down for heaven sakes Swampie or you might have a stroke over this.

Oh my god, Dave agrees with RollerNut :o When Nighthawk was new in 2004, the GP seem to give a bunch of flips for awhile. By the way, I give Head Spin six flips. :P Flyers is also more popular than it was PKI.

Well why don't we just change the name of the park from Carowinds to Recycled-ride-o-winds? Sorry guys and gals I've had enough. Why would Cedar Fair, with prime competition with in four hours east and west, give us another recycled ride and give KI a new monster coaster? I guess they are afraid of big ol' SFKK. Sorry, I've purchased my last season pass until they figure out we won't pay our hard earned money for somebody's used s***!

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they invested the money to save T-road. Hell I'm going to the park this weekend just for it. But I'm done otherwise.

Just wait for morning ERT next year at C3! Reptar, Nighthawk, and Boomerang. "This ERT sponsored by Vicodin."

I'd rather they put in a giant landfill in that spot than that ride.

They're just not fun to me. At all.

Also, I have never seen a line for a boomerang at any park, and it's a low capacity ride. Maybe people aren't quite as dumb as we think...
