General Carowinds discussion

^ 1st of all, Thunder Road was unbearably rough in it's days of being backwards, and it's a totally different concept. Let me rephrase it: The GP will go crazy for a ride the goes forwards and backwards (OMFG!!!1!!1). Is that better? Head Spin is a good ride and it will be good at Carowinds. Despite what you say, chances are you've never even ridden a boomerang, much less this ride. Quit complaining and appreciate that Cedar Fair is giving Carowinds a roller coaster when other parks in the south (Don't say HRP or KD) are begging for one. (Wild Adventures, SFA, etc. etc.)

well guess what? thunder road had fowards and backwards sides so you could choose. amd i bet that the only reason that ceder fair is moving it to carowinds is so that attendence wont get to low. its only to get enough money for a good expansion or some new rieds in the next few years. and no i havnt been on a boomerang coaster except beja vu at sfog which is a little different being suspended and all, but everything ive heard about boomerang coasters is that they suck! and yah right like sfog with a huge hyper coaster and a 200 ft tall drop tower would want a boomerang coaster that is less than 120 ft and only goes 40-45 mph!!!!! if they really wanted they would have gotten one already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being one of the few on the board who has ridden Head Spin at Geauga Lake, I'd say it's one of the smoothest Boomerangs out there.

Being one of the few on the board who has ridden Head Spin at Geauga Lake, I'd say it is one of the worst coasters I have ever ridden, and will be neck in neck with Vortex for the worst coaster in this park.

i actually think vortex is a pretty good ride, but thats probably since in shorter cause im only 13. One thing that is true is that vekoma coasters dont get smoother as they age and considering that it is 14 years old and it will be takin apart, shiped down the eastern half of the eastern us then set up again in a different park wont make a difference if it was smooth at geauga lake or not, it will be one of the worst rides ever!

It will.

Boomerangs suck.
Head Spin sucks.

Guess what? I've been on SIX Boomerangs (not to mention adding 3 more in less than a month  ) and even if they were B&M smooth it would still be one of the worst types of rides out there. This is just an all around bad decision.

Also Cyclone is not rough. Hurler is not rough.

Edit: SFA is the south? REALLY?

Jonathan wrote:Also, I have never seen a line for a boomerang at any park,

The Boomerang at Six Flags Fiesta Texas had one of the longest lines in the park when I went. I thought that one was actually really fun but it's the only boomer Ive ridden. Oh well I like boomers(so far) but I'll be spending my money next year at SFOG mmmmm Goliath.

I would rather have the ferris wheel from GL than the boomerang. I rode Head Spin when it was at GL and I was the only person on the ride. When the ride was over I knew why.

JamminJ, Maryland is south of the Mason-Dixon line, and SFA just HAPPENS to be in Maryland. And on top of it all, SFA is in SOUTHERN Maryland. So yes SFA would be in the south. It's south of US 50. Missed Social Studies class in 8th grade have we?

Maybe I have a nag for rough coasters. I enjoy Vekoma SLC's, I enjoy Mean Streak, I enjoy Boomerangs. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy. But if you get to the bottom of it. The GP is gonna go crazy for this coaster, boosting attendance and overall making it a better chance for a hyper in 2010 or 2011. So get over yourselves people. All in all this is a GOOD ADDITION.

If you want to have a little gentlemen's bet on that then I'm all for it. I hope you are right, but I don't think the GP will go crazy over it, and I don't think it will result in a significant attendance boost.

i think im crazy too cause i think that ninja at sfog is a pretty good ride, im one of the only people i know who likes the very back of hurler, and i am probably the only person who thinks the georgia cyclone is one of the best coasters at sfog! anyways boomerang coasters are outdated. id rather have a face off type boomerang or a dejavu type. they rule!!!!!!!!

cdp123 wrote:Johnathan, think about it. Any "new" coaster will make the GP go crazy I mean Nighthawk sucks but the line is rediculous almost every time I go. Even with 2 trains.

Exactly my point, can't remember which site I made it on. Nighthawk's line in 2006 was still 30 minutes long on a light day.
