Me and my friend Anna decided to go to the park for a little. When we arrived we headed over to Nighthawk for a ride the line started where the single rider line started. I'm like lets wait until later. My friend was like lets stay (She hadn't rode the ride for 2 years). We waited about an hour as they were running only 1 train. Note: I didn't see the 2nd train on the other piece of track Strange it wasn't near the ride. That was my worst ride on Nighthawk ever! They pulled my restraint all the way to suffocating me. Then guess what happens they yell a seat number and the guy comes and pushes it down even more!!
After seeing another TR of a guy not allowed to have a bag with them on Nighthawk I thought my friend wouldn't be allowed to have it. But they let her go.

After that fuc*ing ride we had ever to the YO-YO and rode it. Fun and all.

The best part of day THUNDER ROAD! First ride was on the left side and on the blue train. They only had 1 train running on both sides. For some reason the blue train always won even if the Grey side had a head start. The Ride was much better than before, loved it. 10 times smoother than Hurler! I wanted to ride again so I went to the right side and it was smooth, too.The best part was no line and they always raced. Our train got 4 minutes before the other train was ready and they still waited and raced. They only thing I don't like is that the blue train (left side) always one. I wonder why.

After that was afterburn. There was no line at all even for the front seat. We sat on the front seat and when we were on the lift hill we stopped and the alarms were going off wonder why? Then after 5 minutes we continued and had a blast. We rode again in the back with no lines.

Then we walked to Cyclone and got one the second to last seat no line. They were only operating 1 train (No surprise).

Next was Scream Weaver really fun i hadn't rode forever. Then was DROP TOWER. My friend chickened out and I rode alone. It was time to go and we got a ride on Kaleidoscope before we left.

Todays Awards

Best Ride of the Day: Thunder Road
Second Best of the Day: Afterburn
Third Best of the Day: Screamweaver
Worst Ride of the Day: Nighthawk
Overall 9/10

Question: Why was Nighthawk only running 1 train? It was a pretty long line and i couldn't see the train did it brake?

I was also there today, and I agree about Thunder Road, it was running very smoothly today! Got me plenty of airtime on each side. :D

Afterburn, from my experiences, never seems to have a line, which is fine by me! I finally rode the front row of it today, and wow, what a great ride in the front. The mist feels even better up there.

I finally got to ride Nighthawk for the first time today (first ride of the day for me, got on 2nd train of day, back row). It felt pretty rough, and I also could not find the 2nd train anywhere. I can see how I'll only be riding this first thing in the morning, because the loading times were pretty slow, and with one train, I could see it taking forever...

All coasters were down to one train due to the weather today. If they started out with two, they went down to one by 4:00 as a storm blew through. Since there were very few people in the park, it shouldn't have been a big issue with the very short lines.

Wanted to check out TR since the reopen. Planned on going after work this week, and after getting rained out three nights in a row, I finally couldn't stand it and went during my lunch break.

Only the blue side was open, one train, and it was packed. After a few minutes, they announced the silver train would be back up shortly. After doing the math in front of me...2, 4, 5, ok- short kid I didn't see, 6, 8, !!!..... I bailed and hopped to the other side and grabbed the back. I was in a hurry, and hungry, since I was skipping lunch for this.

There were no noticeable changes in the station or theming, so I spent my time reminiscing, thinking of the people I've waited in line with over the years...friends, family, wives, girlfriends, strangers, lots and lots of sweaty strangers. Remembering how terrified I was waiting in line as a kid for my first time, but knowing it was a rite of passage I had to complete. I kept stealing glances of the track in the distance, watching the empty train make its first two runs. Staring at the rails and gates, wondering how many times they've been painted. Checking out some hottie and diverting my gaze fast because now her boyfriend is glaring at me. Ooops.

It was nice to see the blue train come back with happy faces onboard. There was lots of applause, and smiles of joy rather than grimaces of soreness.

The ride? Smooth as silk! In the back! I didn't remember it ever riding this well. The bumpiest part was the track leading to the tower, after that it was smooth sailing. My favorite part is still entering the turnaround (with just enough momentum) and feeling like you're going straight up, only now it feels like you're gliding. I could nitpick a bunnyhop or two, but I won't; Thunder Road is fun again.

Sorry for the sentimentality, but for me, this ride will always be special; I lost my coaster virginity on this one, back in '79 as a little squirt. However you feel about CF, I'm thankful for the TLC they gave her. She's made a lot of people happy over the years - she deserves it.

It was a satisfying lunch. No gritting of the teeth or bearing the load, but I did enjoy my ride on Thunder Road.

Nighthawk is only running one train because that train has had either Vehicle Malfunctions or a Safety Cut Out many occurances for Carowinds to take it off the transfer tracks and try to repair it for good.
Kinda like what always happens to Superman @ SFA.

Actually, Nighthawks train is missing for scheduled maintenance. Not a malfunction or safety issue. And the crew is actually running more efficiently with only one train.

Really? I would have thought two train operations would have been better?!?

No, it is actually slower having to wait for the train to engage from the break and come in after sitting for loading time. Also, during downtime it doesn't leave the people sitting on their heads on the breaks for long periods of time.
