So Jarvis, tell me, are you married?? Have kids? Own your own home??
Lets look at the landscape a little before dogging everyone on gas. EVERYONE I am sure has the same issues hitting them. If you say you are getting 15-20% raises every year you are full of it. I get a raise every year, and then my insurance goes up more to cover that. Look at the price of gas. It's up what, a buck in the past year. I spend $100/month more with 2 cars than I did. That is 2 trips to Hard Rock Park there. Now the food for a family of 4 is higher. Milk is up a buck from what I was paying, and we go thru 2 gallons a week. Look at how the gov't said grow corn and lets make more of our own fuel. OK, so the increase in corn prices made all the western farmers turn to corn, and now there is a shortage of wheat, beans, etc, and those prices go up for bread, milk, eggs, etc. EVERYTHING has gone up in prices, and for a family of 4 it hurts a lot more than for people that may be single or don't have kids.
Cable goes up, water, power, gas, all are on the rise. In Charlotte they raised water rates 16% because the housing slump has killed their new hookup budget. They shouldn't be counting on new hookups in their budget, but that price was passed on along to the consumer.
Now the fact that some people spend on things they don't have to, probably right. And the more people cut, the more other things go up. Fact of life, but something has to give at times, and looks like Hard Rock Park is feeling it.
