General Carowinds discussion

Well, it could be a Sea Dragon, or something water-related...

I was at the park today, and that crate looks so weird just sitting there by itself in the front of the entrance area, haha.

Opps, I messed up it is Japanese. The chinese and japanese words are so similar that the first symbol is the same.
危険 means Danger Now, if only I could figure out the rest.

Well heck, I thought I'd be first to post a picture of the crate. It is labeled like there is a live animal inside,,,,pretty interesting marketing concept. But no one that I could hear was questioning it. People where more interested in Mercy Me.

I am so glad we all already know what is coming next year.

Can you imagine this board if that crate was shown and we had no idea what we were getting next year. It would of been the biggest letdown once we figured it out.

It actually worsten the pain KNOWING that all this is for THAT ride... :x

^ Uh...and that contributed what to the conversation? How long has that been a general feeling of the Carowinds faithful

ANYWAYS
It's just similar to the Kings Island/Worlds of Fun campaign..this is the thing about CF lately, their pulling a SF, using the same campaign although they are different rides. Although it is better than just "Head Spin" so that's something to look forward to.

It still could be called Head Spin, they just theme around a giant snake that gives you a headache.

Hey, that's perfect!

I think you will get something major in the way of a NEW coaster in about 3 years.

My home park is KD and we received the "used" floorless coaster from Geauga Lake this year. As people have alluded to in other posts on this site and in other sites, I sense there is a sort of pattern to CF's capital improvements for the ex-Paramount parks. CF management has stated that they wanted to put more "thrill" in the former Paramount parks and more "family" in the CF legacy parks. I think the order in which the attractions are installed are based on the pecking order of the former park chain (attendance/revenue).

Lets look at the 2 years since CF took over in July 2006.

Number 1 in the Paramount Chain: Canada's WonderLand.

2007: Off Year
2008: 1st in old Paramount park chain to receive a B&M hyper - Behemoth
2009: Unknown
2010: Unknown

Number 2 in the Paramount Chain: Kings Island

2007: Used GL flying coaster installed: FireHawk
2008: Off Year
2009: KI's first B&M hyper coaster: DiamondBack
2010: Unknown

Number 3 in the Paramount Chain: Kings Dominion

2007: 3 new water attractions in Water Works
2008: Used GL B&M floorless coaster installed: Dominator
2009: Possibly 3 used GL flat rides to be installed - (Not offically confirmed by CF/KD at this point)
2010: Unknown

Number 4 in the Paramount Chain: California's Great America

2007: Unknown (I am not sure if any ride attractions were installed last year)
2008: Used GL Huss Top Spin installed: FireFall
2009: Proposed new GCI wood coaster - On Hold - Depends if local planning commision approves it and/or if CF sells the park for the 49er's new stadium
2010: Unknown

Number 5 in the Paramount Chain: Carowinds

2007: Re-install of your looping ship
2008: New wave pool and used GL swings installed
2009: Used GL Boomarang Coaster - (Not offically confirmed by CF/CW at this point)
2010: Unknown

Look at the above time lines for each park and see if you notice a pattern with just the installation of coasters since CF took over.

Not sure what you are pointing out, but I will point out this. Before CF installs a hyper coaster at a former Paramount Park, they don't get anything so I would say sticking to that pattern Carowinds won't get one until 2011 assuming KD doesn't get one before us, and they stick to their current pattern.

Well, according to the "chart" posted above, I might see a good addition by the time I'm 30 (22 as of now...thanks)! Anyways, I guess us carowinds supporters just need to keep supporting and maybe we will get our money back on a good ride one day! BTW, HRP was freakin awesome and I wish it was closer, b/c I would have a Season Pass and use it everyday!
