How about: This ride sponsored by Tylenol!

That would probably not be a bad idea! Have a little stand selling Tylenol to riders exiting...be the biggest item sold at the park. LOL!

I haven't seen any cobras in the Carolinas :)

Well, it's definitely a reptile of some sort, because on the box there's a sign saying 'Live Reptiles'... Interesting that it says reptiles.

Also has signs out near it that say "Some worship them" and "others fear them"

I really hope they resist the name Carolina Cobra. Wasn't that the name of the Arena Football team we had in Charlotte for what, a year? Maybe 2? Not a good sign for the ride if that is the name.

Yeah, I pointed out that on another forum. This could be the third epic failure with that name. First there was the Carolina Cobras indoor soccer team that played at Independence Arena, then the AFL team.

Yeah, I was gonna mention the failure that was the Carolina Cobras arena football team. Went to one game during their short stay here in Charlotte. I have to assume Raleigh ran them out due to crapiness. Their run onto the field to Godsmack's Voodoo was cool, and the cheerleaders were quite easy on the eyes. It was when the team actually started playing that it all went to crap. The team scored like 17 points, which in Arena is about like getting shut out. I think their opponent had like 55 or something.

Maybe it's a good analogy - the ride may be themed well and look good (cheerleaders) and it may seem like it's going to be thrilling going up the first spike and roaring through the station (intro music) before it all goes to headbanging hell (actual play on the field).

I'm getting to where I'm not that bothered by this addition, though. I think the scenario is basically that the park was going to remove Saturator and wasn't going to add a major coaster in 2009 regardless. Something would need to go in Satie's spot, and the boomer is cheap and fits that space well. I'm seeing it more as a freebie that's going in during an off year, and not something that's pushing back a major addition by a year or more. While I'm sure CF will hype it up for next year, I doubt they'll expect it to be a major attraction with several years of drawing power.

If they DO expect this to be a multi-year draw, I hope they've taken a long, hard look at purchasing the new trains......

It would make the ride much better if they got the new trains for it! Back at my old home park, Six Flags Great Adventure, the Chiller used to have the OTSRs, and they sucked. But then they added new restraints that were just lapbars with leg restraints, and the ride was so much more comfortable/fun!
