Hi all, first-time poster here. :)

I have yet to ride Nighthawk this season (of 4 trips, 2 for theme park, 2 for water park), mainly due to long lines. On my last trip, I noticed it was only running one train. Is this normal? If so, how fast/slow does the line move when running one train? I know Vekoma flyers can take forever to load/unload (I've ridden Batwing @ SFA)...

The line moves twice as slow when using one train vs using 2. My suggestion is to get to it first thing in the morning. But since you already rode batwing its virtually the same thing. But then again...its kinda different.

Nighthawk is running with one train and will be for the next few weeks. They are actually running more efficiently with the one train as they experience less downtime. If you are visiting during the week, you will find that the line is usually not more than 45 minutes at it's longest. The best time to come is first thing in the morning when season pass holders can ride first (between 9:30 and 10:00) and at the very end of the night. Saturdays are a terrible day as the park experiences an influx of people and every line is ridiculous. This weekend proves to be the same as Carowinds is having their Latino festival and expecting very high numbers.

Nighthawk usually does run with only one train when the other one is not operating correctly, which does seem to be quite often unfortunately. I believe the main problem is that we have prototype trains instead of the full production trains that batwing and all of the other vekoma flying dutchmans' have. Therefore causing us having lots of problems with our trains.

oh that is this weekend?? I hate the latino festival....

I could have sworn that Nighthawk's trains were updated when they relocated to Carowinds.

They were, but they are still the prototype trains, to my knowledge at least.

From what I know, the trains had the padded vests added, replacing the OTSR that they had at PGA, now i do not know when this happened, and it may have happened while stealth was still at PGA and before we got it.

Ah I see, thanks for the info. I plan on going there again tomorrow or Thursday, so I'll have to try to do it when the park opens early for SP-holders (completely forgot about that!)

the otsr were put on before it opened to the public at pga. during the test runs, the testers were complaning about the head banging so they updated them

Got another question from today's trip... What is the new building behind Nighthawk's station/queue for? I assume it's storage, like the one by Thunder Road. :?:
