Too bad they aren't the kind with only the leg restraint, but I give the park props for making an effort.

I really hope that picture with the giant cobra over the cobra roll is just some type of art for the wall paper. If they put a giant cobra up, it will be about as tacky as putting in a 3rd Vekoma. Oh wait. Too late.

Consider me confused. It look as though these trains have vest restraints. But then there are big unpadded metal bars around you?

Anyway, big credit to the park for buying the new trains when they probably didn't have to. It doesn't change my opinion on this addition, but I will give the ride a try now next time I go to the park.

I really dont see the difference in these trains than the other ones. If they wanted to make a dramatic change the would have went with the lap bar ones...but who knows if it would have been a libility issue?

Trying to keep an open mind, but I don't get the restraints at all. At least the trains are new.

That new website has a lot of padding. You can access the webcam from three different links! How handy is that?

On the bright side, this coaster will bring in some revenue. Think of all the rubber snakes the park will sell..... :?

I disagree, I think it would add to the cobra roll, I also think if they do it they should take it all the way to the ground like it is coming "out of it's hole". By the way, does anyone else think they are overdoing the "Carolina" in the name of rides?
Carolina Cyclone
Carolina Goldrusher
Carolina Skytower
Carolina Cobra
They could have used Tar Cobra, or Tarheel Cobra and painted black spots on the trains/coaster. The new train's remind me of Nighthawk's vests.

Well the name is OK, I like the logo and the webpage they created for the new ride...I dont think it will be as thrilling as they make it out to be but I do like the page and I like that they have the webcam up for real-time construction update. I think it would be cool if they have a giant cobra sign for the entrance...I think they will do something creative. I hope this addition will bring in a lot of extra attendance and we get something BIG in 2010! The new train cars I think will add some thrill....at least that what it says...

Carolina Cobra is adorned with newly designed trains exclusive only to its tracks. No other parks in the United States have yet to utilize these spacious trains, designed specifically for a heightened rider-experience.

The sleek semi-open 28-passenger trains will create an aerodynamic experience unlike any other on a coaster as riders undergo the sensations of wind and speed at an amplified level, for a smooth enjoyable ride.

Sounds good...I guess. I cant wait to see what is going on with the construction at scarowinds and I am planning on getting some pictures! Cant wait to ride this and see if it was worth the wait...

Does anyone know what is going to happen to FSS?

My concern is that, if they are spending all that money for a new train, this might be considered a major addition for the park which means it could be years before we see something worth coming back to the park for. Now I'm thinking Dominion will get a hyper before us. :(

Ok. I'll give props to the Web Design team for haveing a pretty cool layout for a "new" attraction. At least it makes Cobra appear more interesting and has already sparked conversation.

The new trains remind me of a Dune Buggy. With the big bars like a roll cage around you. But Not sure of Mr. Vest looking thingy. Hmmm.

So, I am with Jonathan as I will give CC a ride or two next year.

Oh, and thank you for NOT stateing it is the "est" anything. (biggest, etc.)

The new harness is a newer version of the "Horse Collar" if you will. The tops of the restraints will curve to the shoulders if tall or stay straight for younger/skinny riders. For us real men and women, the shoulder will bend to fit comfortably to our shoulders deminsions and chest areas! The harness itself is slimer and wider to fit riders better and offer more room over the previous crampt trains used on cyclone. Take a look at the picture and zoom in on it to see the big guy's harness vs. the little boy's harness!
