Im headed up to Scarowinds on Friday night. Does anyone know if they allow you to 'tailgate' in the parking lot with a fold-out table? I would just be eating food and maybe playing some beer pong. If not, (which is probably the case) is there any places around to do so?

They let people go out to their cars during the day and picnic by their car, I don't see why they wouldn't let you do this.

Yes, there are rules prohibiting alcohol. You are not supposed to have it in the parking lot. The only places it is ok is in the park at wings and at outer hanks (or wherever else they sell it). If you are going to take it, just be mindful of the patrols that will frequent your area and be smart about it.

Another option would be to park across the street at the "mall" and do your tailgating. It is even close enough that you could forego parking and walk to the park.

As drunk as I usually get if I was to participate in Beer Pong, I'd throw up on the rides.
