A sign of the times:

I think it is a perfectly understandable move. I guess the parks that are in more tourism driven areas are taking a much bigger hit than the regional parks.

It seems DW is still going through with a massive parking lot redesign though.

Personally, I think DW needs to drop their admission price to about $39.95/adults and $29.95 or less/kids. We haven't been for years, the reason being is the $51.00 price to go! No early buy discounts and I'm not taking a time-sharing tour to get free ones! Shoot, it only cost us $52.00 for a 2-day pass to CP this summer, because we bought early on their site. If DW wants more customers, which means greater revenues, get the price down some!

I have never had a problem with dollywoods admission price simply because I can get a season pass for less than the price of 2 visits. I dont know too many people that go to dollywood for one day personally.

I think dollywood can live up to the admission price it is charging now. And I like how they are being honest and saying shi...stuff went up and we arent gonna pay that inflation price and turn around and get the money from you guys so we are holding off!

Heres hope that carowinds holds off INDEFINITELY!!

I do not see anything wrong with what Dollywood asks for entrance into their park. This is not the now closed Hard Rock Park that was incomplete when it opened up. I really have no problem paying what they ask but I can see your point about having a family going.

I have read over some of the comments on the other boards (TPR and Trollnetwork) and wondered when 16-18 year olds became experts on building attractions, running a park, and fixing the economy? I wished it was that easy as they think it is as just calming down and stepping back. Prices for building supplies have shot up over the last few years. I recall bidding on a job that was to make a profit and getting it then when the job starts the bid just covers the materials. Now that I have moved up within my company and overseeing large projects related to this type of construction, I can say that Dollywood's postponing the 2009 addition to 2010 is a great idea.

But I am sure there are some that will disagree and that is cool.
